A/n: Hey, Carmen the Yo-Yo Youkai here again, brings you yet another Song-
fic. Hekele Masuyo, one of my best reviewers, requested this one. ;;
Disclaimer: I don't own the Inu-Yasha characters or the song. Seether and
Amy Lee did the song 'Broken.'

"I wanted you to know
I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high
And steal your pain away"
Thunder and lightning crashed down on a little dojo in the Feudal Era of
Japan. Inside was a young woman, not much older than nineteen. Her long
raven hair hung low over her back as she knelt by a window, leaning back
against the wall. The vibrations of thunder shook her as it did the wall.
Sighing, the girl stared out the window opposite of her, wishing someone
were there.
"I keep your photograph;
I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high
And steal your pain"
At the same time, in a village not too far away, a young monk of almost the
same age sat beneath an on-ing made of just sticks and twigs. Sure, he was
getting wet, but he didn't care. His mind wasn't on the rain at all. Right
now, his mind, and heart, was set on a certain demon slayer.
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm open
And I don't feel like
I am strong enough"
course, it was no use. She couldn't see past the rain. Rubbing her head,
worry filled her eyes. Her heart felt like it were shattered to pieces,
being away from the one she loved, if it only for a week even.
"Oh, Miroku . . ."
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm lonesome
And I don't feel light
When you're gone away"
The clouded sky overhead blocked out the light from reaching the boy. The
only light he may have gotten would follow up with a loud crash, as
lightning flashed through the sky. Leaning on his staff, he sighed, staring
out as he wondered what his beloved was doing.
"Hope you're ok, Sango-chan."
"The worst is over now
And we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high,
You steal my pain away"
The raven-haired girl, Sango, placed a hand over her heart and rocked on
her heels just slightly, giving her something to do. As she breathed in
deeply, she made her way to the door of the small hut, opening it and
stepping out into the rain. She closed her eyes, directing her head towards
the sky. Every drop of rain fell onto her face.
"There's so much left to learn,
And no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high
And steal your pain"
The wind blew hard one last time, blowing every single drop of rain towards
the way of the monk named Miroku. Bowing his head, the water hit his hair,
dampening it and letting a few strands loose from the small band that held
his hair back. Looking up, he closed his eyes and pictured the girl who'd
haunted his dreams the past few years in his head. Now they didn't seem so
scary.
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm open
And I don't feel like
I am strong enough"
Suddenly, the rain came to a halt and the clouds began to drift apart,
revealing hints of blue sky here and there. Sango lowered her head, her now
soaking hair falling down her back. Instead of that worried expression she
wore minutes before, a smile now graced her lips.
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right
When you're gone away"
Miroku stood, squinting out into the sky as his eyes opened again. His face
lit up just as the sky had. Shifting slightly, he pulled himself to his
feet using his staff as a balance. Miroku stepped out onto the muddy ground
and began walking. Rain couldn't stop him from getting back to her. Not any
more.
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm open
And I don't feel like
I am strong enough"
"'Cause I'm broken
When I'm lonesome
And I don't feel light
When you're gone away"
