Title: Waiting
Rating: G
Spoilers: "Evolution Part Two" Season Seven
Season: Seven
Summary: Sam receives a great welcome back.
Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate SG-1 so no suing please. I also have no rights to "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. I only own the plot.
Author's Note: Song fics galore! Just minor Sam and Jack ship, no real spoilers but it takes place at the end of "Evolution Part Two".
--------------------------
Sam yawned lazily as she walked to her quarters on base, after having lunch with Jack, being checked out thoroughly by Janet, with her diagnosis reading a ripped tendon in her shoulder, and an excruciating long debrief, Sam figured she would just sleep at the base rather than go home.
She dug her hand through a pocket to find her cardkey and swiped it though the door lock, opening the door handle with her hip. Once inside she tossed the cardkey onto her small dresser and headed towards the bed, but something foreign caught her eye. A small pink teddy bear sat neatly between her pillows.
Cautiously approaching the rogue stuffed animal, Sam noticed it was holding a folded piece of paper. Scribbled across the front in all too familiar handwriting were the words; "Pick me up and open me after you hit play on your stereo." Doing as she was told, Sam grabbed the note and carefully headed to the small stereo she kept on a table, flicking it on, she pushed play.
Immediately the room filled with beautiful music and she opened the note, inside more familiar scribble could be found. Sam began reading just as the lyrics filled the room they matched each other.
Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly so slowly and time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need love
Godspeed your love
To me
Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh, 'Wait for me, wait for me'
'I'll be coming home, wait for me!'
Sam grinned as she noticed the note was signed with a heart and several X's. She walked back to her bed, letting the song fill every part of her. She picked up the bear and snuggled it to her chest as she closed her eyes. Murmuring a phrase before she drifted off into a horde of great dreams.
"I'm waiting Jack. I'm still waiting."
