Prologue: Goodbye...

"But why? Why do you have to go?" A woman cried holding her two year old son close as her husband put on his boots and duffle bag.

"Shadoah we've over this, I have to. My brother needs my help with something important." The husband explained wiping the tears from her cheeks. "I'll only be gone long enough to take care of this and then I'm coming right back home to you. I promise."

"But Al is only two Phantom. He needs his father, you can't just leave him like this!" Shadoah cried as her son looked on oblivious to what was happening.

Phantom sighed wrapping his arms around his wife and son. "I know. Believe me I don't want to leave either of you like this but I don't have much choice. If I don't go it could compromise you and Als safety and I'll be damned if I let any harm come to the two most precious things in my life." he said softly putting his forehead against hers.

Shadoah looked into his eyes and smiled with a sigh holding your tears in. " Okay I trust you. Just come home safe or I'll kill you."

Phantom chuckled. " I will I promise." he said kissing her forehead, before turning to his son. "Take care of your mother little man, I'm counting on you." he said ruffling toddlers hair, before walking out the door.

Al reached out a hand to the door and began squirming in his mother's arms crying. "Dada...Dada!"

Two months later...

Shadoah was in her rocking chair beside her toddlers crib as he slept. She sighed looking at a framed picture of Phantom holding Al the day he was born and smiled. "You were so excited to be a father." She said stroking the glass before laying her hand on her slightly bulging belly. "I can only hope you'll be just as excited with this one"...
