Annabeth stood with her fists balled up. She had creases in her forehead like she was wracking her brain to remember something. Percy knew that look, it was her look, the shut up, I'm about to sacrifice your sorry butt to Hades himself look.

"Well children, it seems that your time is up in this world. Be grateful that you made it this far, far enough to be devoured by my presence." Nyx was a witch. Actually, no. She made a cannibal with warts on his face look appealing. This woman was a demon. She was right though. Percy felt his skin being skewered, and he started to pick up on the scent of burning flesh, Annabeth's burning flesh.

Annabeth smiled coyly, " Nyx, your majesty, have you kept up with current affairs lately?"

"What are you wasting my time with this for! I am goodness of night, do you think the humans and their trivial current affairs dare concern me?"

"Of course not, your Darkliness. It's just that, I assumed your servants would have made you aware of the fact that night has been banned in Canada." Annabeth's eyes darted across the room to meet Percy's. Help seemed to be the favorite message of the day.

"Oh yeah. I just saw it on the news the other night. To prevent sadness or something. Yeah, the Canadian government is forbidding night. They keep all the lights on and pray to Zeus for light and stuff."

Nyx's eyes glowered. Yes, they were on a roll. She was livid. "Oh, is that so? Now Canadians think that the beauties of night cause their turmoil? Do they not know that Zeus is going to be overthrown in less than a fortnight? They are imbeciles! Just like the rest of the Gods! These Canadians will rue the day they ever thought night to be lesser than princess of the sky." She threw her cape over her shoulder and disappeared leaving the darkness trailing behind her.

"And once again, we have been saved by my quick thinking, Seaweed Brain." She smiled at me and I just couldn't help but kiss her. Even in the depths of Tartarus, where we smelled like rotting corpses and were soon nearing our tragic endings, I still wanted to kiss her. Always.
