"STORY! STORY! STORY!" Len Tsukimori gritted his pearly white teeth as the constant calls from the next room kept him far away from concentrating on the contract he was required to do.
"-TORY! STORY! STORY! STORY!" Finally the final restrain somewhere within him snapped and he stormed into the room to see 3 year olds Kallen and Kouren along with 1 year old Kaien grinning with the same smug smile their mother would have whenever he gave into her ridiculous demands. Such as now.
"Okay, Okay, Okay! Geez, I'll tell you a story but after that we're heading to dream land. No questions; No protests and absolutely no encores! Understood?" Seeing the eager nods of the kids made Tsukimori Len recalled why in the seven pits of hell did he agree to take care of the children while Kaho and the other wives went off to do some last minute Christmas shopping for the dinner tomorrow.
"YAY!" The children cheered; praising themselves for annoying their dad enough for him to do what they want. Len sighed; resigning himself to his fate as he begrudgingly went over to the four poster king-sized bed which was Kaien's, seeing as the room is Kaien's bedroom. He had yet to find out why exactly his terrible three (Kallen and Kouren) love going into their brother's room for story time.
"Well?" whinned Kallen.
"Okay. There was. . ." Len started but he was interrupted by his youngest; who shook his head in disagreement.
"No. No. No!" Kaien pouted.
"Yeah dad! You forgot the 'Once upon a time'!" scowled Kouren. Len by now massaged his throbbing temples and slowly released all the tensions building up from the kids.
"Once upon a time there was a handsome prince who was known for him amazing violin skills and handsome looks. He was frequently chased by girls who wanted him for his money or status however he also frequently rejected them all for he refuse to have anyone by his side." Kallen, Kouren and Kaien blinked sleepily as Len halted to think about the next line, keeping in mind to avoid very complicated words for Kaien's sake.
"Anyway, one day, the prince ran away and met this strange fairy who cursed him to be a bird because he didn't help the fairy out. The bird prince flew until he was tired and fell asleep on the ground. While he was asleep he was founded by a girl." By this time, Kallen's eyes sparkled at the thought of love between her daddy's characters while Kouren yawned in boredom. Frankly, Len was about to follow Kouren's action but kept in mind of his daughter.
"The bird the fell in love with the princess and transformed back. They went to the palace got married and lived happily ever after. Now go to sleep!" Len hissed. But then he was surprised to see all three kids snuggling with each other; fast asleep. He was still sitting there gawking when his lovely saviour/wife, Kahoko entered the room. Her red hair was laced with small fluff which was snow stuck on her clothes while she'd scrambled back and foward into the house with the grocceries.
"Thanks for putting them to sleep, honey!" Kahoko chirped softly as she kissed her husband on his forehead and pecked her angels before leaving the bewildered father laughing awkwardly before he, too, collapsed on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
