Zelda/Link AU: Love for the Ages

When he saw her across the Grand Hall, he felt something stir inside of him. Where was she from? Why did it feel like he was searching for her since he was born?
She was busy talking with someone and her father, the King, was by her side. He was nodding, smiling, and laughing at the two young adults in front of him. The girl was politely smiling, a smile that did not reach her eyes.
Link, our young hero, was shaken by his accompaniment and snapped out of his trance. The girl next to him, Marin, was slightly frowning.
'Link! What are you doing? Aren't you going to ask me to a dance?'
He slowly looked at her. She was always cute when she was slightly jealous. He chuckled and offered his hand. She blushed slightly and went with him to the dance floor.
The girl he saw was almost forgotten, but stayed in his mind all through the years. Even after he had married Marin, he always thought back to that one dance. That girl who seemed so far away, but so close.
