Author's Note: I decided to start this story and see where it goes. Prologue and Chapter 1 for now, then I'll continue sometime this week, or the next. SYOC open, but prepare to get asked a lot of questions. For now, enjoy.
Prologue
"Souls are vitality.
When someone or something feels emotion, they fuel their soul. Everyone has one, no matter how emotionless someone seems. When someone is feeling emotions, their soul expands. Souls are given energy when their owners express their emotions openly. Without these acts of openness, one's soul can be neglected, effectively losing their power and impact. With a weak soul, one would be better off being robotic. Having a weak soul doesn't make you emotionless. Your emotions will work as well as someone with a strong soul, or a mediocre soul, or any soul. But, many believe having a weak soul is smart. Some say repressing feelings will make sure that they don't control you. While I have a belief of that matter, I cannot tell you if I agree or disagree with that statement due to the fact that I may get myself in trouble if one of you run your mouth to the headmaster. And yes, I still remember Miss DarkSkull. While fauna and flora do have souls, they feed their souls in very different ways than us humanoid creatures. That, sadly, is something I don't have any time to talk about, but you will learn about that subject in Advanced Death. But, as I we all know we have many overachievers in this class -cough- Morgrim -cough-. What? I said nothing. It was a simple cough. Anyways, is you wish to read up on this topic you may find a book Animaology, the study of souls. While the beginner studies have their own interesting properties, the advanced versions continue on about more, well, intimate topics, and if you choose to read them, you may find out more about yourself than you've ever truly known. Moving on, the finality of the soul, death. When any living thing dies, their soul evaporates into the never ending world that cannot be seen by the naked eye. If you were to see this magical void, you would be able to see through the magical mist, quite literally dubbed "Mist", you would see souls rising from dying creatures who once lived. Now, there are very rare cases in which a soul cannot ascend into the never ending void of the Spiral, and that is when something has the ability to steal souls. This, though, has never happened in history, although, using Magical Theory, it is very possible, but it requires immense magical feats, in which most never dare to try, whilst they face a fate worse then death. They have committed sin. Most do not know what happens to those who have committed sinful acts, and I warn you all not to go down such paths. Soul stealing souls allows someone to gain powerful energy. One soul allows people to live, wizards to do magic. Imagine what one could do with twice that power! Or even triple that power! Scary as it is, it has never been done before, so there is no fear. Heck, one could even summon a dragon titan with that power. Anyways, that's all the time we have for today, and remember that report on skeletal warriors is due by next week. And, with that, enjoy the rest of your day."
-Malistaire Drake (1976-2012) May he rest in power.
Short, due to the fact that it's a prologue, next chapter will be at least 2,000. SYOC is open, but I will ask a lot of questions so prepare to be PM'd hard. As far as Malistaire's age went, I took the release date of Azteca, which is 2012, then I guessed that he was about 36 when you kill him in Dragonspyre, and I believe hes stops ageing from there. Next chapter will be soon!
