Imagine your OTP with a box of candy sweethearts. Instead of eating them, they have fun exchanging them and reading the cheesy sayings such as 'Text Me,' 'Be Mine,' 'Love Bug,' etc. Person B hands A one that says 'Marry Me,' though A simply laughs it off. B hands them another one with the same saying, and then a third, causing A to pause. They look up at B, confused, but B simply gets down on one knee, and asks A to marry them, for real.
Jake walks up the steps to Lindy's apartment and enters the building walking down the hallway holding a big bright red bag in one hand and a bouquet of red roses in the other hand. He reaches her apartment and her best friend Sofia answers the door. Sofia's face is plastered with a huge smile as she ushers Jake inside and leads him to the dining room. "Lindy's just in the shower, she'll be out soon. I'm off to my date with Detective Yeager" Sofia trails off as she leaves the apartment. Jake sets his gifts for Lindy on the table and walks into the kitchen searching for two wine glasses in the cupboards, finding them he places them on the table and searches for the expensive bottle of red from the bag. The shower shuts off as Jake finishes the final preparations for Lindy.
Lindy exits the shower wrapped in a towel and walks into the living room and see's Jake standing in front of the table. Lindy rushes over and gives him a quick kiss on the cheek before continuing into her bedroom. Emerging from her room she sees Jake sitting at the table. "Happy Valentine's Day" he smiles. "Jake, you didn't have to go to all this trouble, it's only Valentine's Day" Lindy smirked. Jake stood up from the table and walked over and embraced Lindy wrapping his strong muscular arms around her, his lips grazing over hers, "I wanted too" he breathed. Placing his hands on her shoulders he led her to the table and pulled out a chair for her as she sat down pushed it in.
A few glasses of wine later Jake pulled a medium sized box out of the bag and opened it revealing candy sweethearts. He divided them into two halves and gave Lindy her half. "Let's trade the best ones, the winner is decided if the other can't produce a better saying" Jake gestured as he picked up one, "Text me". Lindy pulled out her phone and swiftly typed and sent a text, not a moment later an alert went off and Jake pulled out his phone and read, "This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me". Smiling and looking into Lindy's eyes he awaited her candy sweetheart. "Be Mine" Lindy revealed. Jake rested his hand upright on the table and Lindy placed her hand intertwining her fingers with his, "I already am all yours" he whispered into her ear.
Jake rummaged around in the bag and pulled out another sweetheart. "Oh, these must have fallen out in the bag" he exclaimed placing one on the table and pushing it in Lindy's direction. It read "Marry Me". Lindy smiled and laughed it off as she took a sip of her wine. Jake hands her another one, it read the same "Marry Me" before placing another in her hand with the same pink writing on it. Lindy paused looking up at Jake who was now smiling and awaiting her response. Jake stood up from the table and walked over to her standing in front of her he gets down on one knee and pulls a small black velvet box from his pocket. "Lindy Sampson" he paused, "Will you marry me?".
