Gajeel was confused. Why was his girlfriend asking what sounded a lot like "Would you want to be my boyfriend?" And why did it only "sound a lot like" that, full of trips, blushes, and ummms.
She knew she was already his girlfriend, right? He'd pretty much told her dozens of times. Maybe she had been expecting an outright claim, like he'd made on Pantherlily. But this was different. He'd been looking for a cat. She'd snuck up on him. Which he supposed he deserved for all the times he'd snuck up on her. But Pantherlily is his cat; She is his girlfriend. You don't just tell a girl she was your girlfriend, you show her. You ask her. He'd practically come right out and asked plenty of times, just to be sure, and each and every time, she'd said yes.
In the end, he just nodded. Because, despite her awesome credentials in the field of obscure languages, apparently her Gajeelese wasn't quite fluent yet.
