The life of anyone living in Azeroth is not easy, thanks to the Lich King. Gilean, a highly respected priest, and his older sister, Shanire are no exception to this rule. Their father, Edward, was a paladin that served Stormwind, and their mother, Leila, was a priest of the Temple of Light. They had three children, Shanire, Gilean and Denrick. Shanire was originally training to become a mage of the Kirin Tor, but was called to a darker power, she became a warlock. Shanire learned how to use flame and shadow magic, along with how to summon demons from the Twisting Nether. Shanire bonded with the Voidwalker, Cozros and the Succubus, Selwena. Gilean followed in his mother's footsteps and became a priest. He was on the road to become a very disciplined priest, until he ventured to Ironforge, where he learned the ways of a Shadow Priest along with his Discipline training. Denrick trained in the ways of the paladin, like their father. He was knighted and sent to Northrend to fight against the Lich King, but was slain one month into his service. Leila was also killed that month, she was in Ashenvale, and was caught in the middle of an Orcish invasion. Edward spiraled into a deep depression, while both Shanire and Gilean left for the Plaguelands. They did not join the Argent Crusade, but worked closely with them to repel the Scourge. They met Captain Zachary Revalin, one of Denrick's former friends, and made arrangements with him so they could work with the Crusade.
While in the Plaguelands, both Shanire and Gilean met the Draeni warrior, Tarsil, the Worgen rogue, Toborn, the Night elves Aqudaria and Thasarir, a mage and druid respectfully, Zuk'Ran, a Troll hunter, and Fenris, a Blood Elf paladin. Tarsil was stoic and level headed, Toborn was a fun loving prankster, Aqudaria always seemed lost in thought, Thasarir was serene and caring, Zuk'Ran was always careful and Fenris was gallant and honorable.
Both Shanire and Gilean developed relationships, but Shanire advanced her relationship while Gilean worked up the courage to even ask the person he admired. Both she and Fenris fell in love. After three years of courting in secret, Fenris proposed to Shanire, naturally she said yes. She asked Gilean to marry them, he agreed. Toborn, sensing something was different about Shanire, found out and crashed the wedding with Tarsil, Thasarir, Aqudaria, and Zuk'Ran in tow. Gilean swore them to secrecy under penalty of death, they complied. Shanire had never been happier than on her wedding day.
Both Shanire and Gilean did not write to their father and tell him about the marriage, because of their fathers' hatred toward all Horde allied races. His wife was killed by Orcs, and he was wounded horribly in a battle with Blood Elves and Forsaken. That wound was what caused Edward to retire; he could not walk without the aid of a cane. Many priests and druids tried to heal the wound, but to no avail.
