AN: Disclaimer: I am not Stephanie Meyer, never was, never will be. Okay, now that we got that out of the way, on with the story!
Memento – Chapter One
All the Cullens had gone to college and had some fascinating job experiences in their extended lifetimes.
Carlisle had gone to medical school multiple times and has always worked as a doctor. Edward tagged along a few times, but with his boyish looks, it was hard to pull off the 'experienced doctor' look.
Esme earned numerous degrees in Architecture and Interior Design. She usually worked on the Cullens' homes, but mentored and helped many a young architect with her motherly ways and impeccable taste.
Alice had studied Fashion Design in Paris and Milan. She has never released a collection, but she has consulted for most of the biggest names in the industry. Without Alice, Coco Chanel's comeback in 1954 would've flopped.
Jasper, with a combination of small colleges and correspondence classes, was an expert in Literature. He had also published two books on the Civil War that cast light on the previously little-known experience of Confederate soldiers. Critics raved that his books seemed to be written by an eyewitness.
Emmett, surprisingly, has had the most impressive educational career. He learned about whatever struck his fancy. Consequently, Emmett has studied Education, Psychology, Video Production, Physics, Culinary Arts, Anthropology, Rocket Science, Hotel Managing, Electrical Engineering, Zoology, Spanish, and Horology. (Say it aloud, and you'll figure out why Emmett picked it.)
However, Rosalie's career path has been a long, convoluted road. Rose didn't have anything against college, and she was incredibly smart. Still, Rose avoided college and a career in the early days. She claimed she was too thirsty, too busy, or that she preferred to stay at home. These were all lies. Only Edward knew the real reason.
Rosalie didn't like to be reminded of her differences, and tried to stay away from humans and their mortality. In the year 1957, that all changed. That was when Rosalie Hale met a young woman who helped reconcile the warring parts of Rose's soul. The human and the vampire.
AN: Horology is the study of clocks and other timekeeping things. Also the rating on this will probably move up to M in later chapters. Not for lemons or smut, but for an abusive relationship. Please review! It'll make me smile!
