Disclaimer: I do not own. Sure, I'd love to, but… I don't. Unfortunately.
Don't know how you got there, but you've dug your claws in and now you won't let go.
The moment I saw you, I fell in love with you. At first, I thought it was just infatuation. You were so much younger then me, the only girl amongst all those men and boys.
But you fought, and fought well, and beat them at their own game. Then Lord Raoul took you on as his squire, and it all changed. No one could say that you cheated with magic when you were under so many people's noses.
My cousin and I sent letters to each other about you, exchanging information about you. Jousting with Lord Raoul, the sparrows, Jump, your new horse Hoshi, even about the people you beat up. When you started going out with Cleon, I must have been the first person to know, thanks to that letter system. Blame thief-kings turned nobles, if you must.
I never really loved anyone else, you know. Oh, I had infatuations, but I couldn't forget you. How could I? You were always there, where I could see you, making sure that I could never get over you, even though you never knew. I always made sure of that, at least.
Four years with my lord Raoul, then off to face that Chamber. Then, eighteen years old, commanding a refugee camp. Both me and my cousin were stationed there, the first time all three of us had ever been posted somewhere for more than a month. And, being you, you had to pick up yet another stray, that boy Tobe. Didn't you have enough?
Eighteen, and you went into Scanra for your refugees, disobeying the orders of Lord Wyldon completely. What were you thinking, heading off with only a horse, some sparrows and a few cats and dogs? Of course we had to go after you. You didn't really think you could take five hundred-odd refugees all by yourself, did you? Of course we would come. They weren't just yours, you know.
And all that time I loved you. Watched you out of the corner of my eye, made sure you couldn't kill yourself, charged my cousin to look after you when I couldn't be there. He knew, of course. We told each other everything. Finally, I plucked up the courage to tell you how I felt. I was terrified, terrified that you'd reject me. But you loved me, too. That had to be the biggest surprise you ever gave me.
Now, you're my wife. We married last year, and you're already pregnant. You're 24, the first ever known lady knight, though by now there are four lady squires and at least 7 girl pages- more keep joining every day, it seems to me- and you say you're not a role model for all those girls? Kel, I'm heartbroken
I think of this as Kel/Neal, but it could also be Kel/Dom.
Stupid computer. Almost had the whole thing deleted because Dad tried to fix the internet connection by turning it off, when I hadn't saved it. Meh.
Oh, I had a wonderful idea. You send me a word or words and I'll make up a story about it. I'm only doing this because my brain keeps coming up with strange things that no-one wants up here. Believe me. Okay, just to get you going, I'll write a oneshot about… something
Review, and I'll write
