Heart beats fast, colors and promises

She can't breathe. She doesn't know where he is. He promised he would meet her here, at their place at the edge of the cliff. She wasn't supposed to be here right now, she was risking everything to meet him. But she had to see him again. She wouldn't be able to breathe again unless she saw him, knew he was okay. She doesn't know how and when everything got so complicated, but she needed to be near him. He would make everything okay. She knew he would, he always did.

How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?

She stood there, watching the clock, fidgeting with the ring he gave her. It was an annoying tick of hers that he loved. She would always play with it when she was nervous, it helped her imagine that he was there next to her. She tapped her foot, becoming impatient. Where could he be? This doesn't make any sense, he promised he would be here.

But watching you stand alone, all of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

He was nervous and he knew he was late. He didn't know why he was scared. Even after all these years, he couldn't believe he was still with her. There were so many things that he had done wrong, but she never judged him for his mistakes. He was standing behind a bench, out of her sight. He knew, after seeing her, that there was no reason to be afraid. She made everything okay, no matter what it was. All the lies he had told before made him afraid that even one slight mistake may cause him to lose her.

One step closer

He walked towards her. She turned around knowing it was him and the weight of the world was off of her shoulders as soon as she saw him. She smiled, slowly walking up to him.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years

Then she did something unexpected, she punched him on the shoulder. For a small woman, she had a lot of strength. He grimaced in pain as he gripped his shoulder, but he knew he deserved it . After all, he did make her wait for so long. He just smiled, after the initial throbbing had subsided, and pulled her in for a hug. He could feel her smile against his shirt as he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead. She looked up a placed a soft and delicate kiss on his lips. That was enough to calm the both of them because they knew that everything was okay. Their relationship may not look right, but it has always felt right and that was all that mattered.

"I love you"

"I love you too"

I'll love you for a thousand more
