Monika sat in her throne of Pocky, the hall before her desolate and void of any people. She twirled the pocky stick in her hands, eventually abandoning it on her armrest. She slowly sat up and stepped towards her window. Her steps against the glossy chocolate floor of the room were the only sound.

She reached the glass doors, slowly opening them and stepping onto the balcony. There a piano stayed alone, only visited on nights like these. Monika's dress rustled in the soft wind that blew through, the dipped dyed fabric rippling. It was calming and she never got tired of it. However, her favorite part was the view.

She could see her kingdom for miles until it faded into the horizon. Buildings made of crackers, coated in chocolate, vanilla, some even with green tea, surrounded her grand home. The place was unique compared to the sugared candies of other lands. Pocky was more snack, yet Monika had managed to make it the largest kingdom in the Candylands of Doki Doki.

She sighed, feeling the cool breeze against her face. She hugged herself, cold despite that fact of her gloves hiding most of her arms. She sat down on the piano bench, facing away from the grand instrument itself.

Despite having the highest status over anyone else, she felt pathetic. She was the leader over the other girls, yet she found herself an outcast.

Sayori, the princess Monika was closest too, ruled the center kingdom of Kit Kats. A chocolate covered delicacy like Monika's pocky, yet was considered more candy, like the rest of Doki Doki. Sayori was the peacekeeper, able to unite all the girls.

Yuri, the head of the third largest kingdom, was the princess of Wagashi. It was a dry sugar treat that had roots in tradition. She was quite the loner yet made great conversation when she was comfortable. Her specialty was tea, which she served at every meeting. The beverage wasn't Monika's favorite, but she drank it nonetheless.

Natsuki was the leader of the Last kingdom

in the alliance, the Konpeito kingdom. The girl was small yet hard, though she was sweeter than she let on, like the candy of her home. She was the youngest out of them all, yet managed to fit into their inner circle. Monika treated her like a kid, though in all honesty she'd hate for her to get hurt.

Monika turned around, adjusting her position so that she faced her piano. Her hands hovered above the keys. The girls were set to gather soon. Perhaps… she stopped herself. There was nothing she could do to change her current reality. She sighed, pressing gently onto the keys.

And she let the notes flow into the night.

A/N: This was a lot more fun than I thought to write! In the DDLC Amino, there is an AU Challenge where they give you a prompt to make an AU out of! I got Pocky but it got further than that. Whoops. Anywho. I definitely plan to continue this! Thanks for reading!
