Chapter 1: the curse
3rd person's pov
It was a peaceful day unlike any other. Skipper was in a lawn chair drinking lemonade. Rico was reading a magazine on the hottest dolls in the market. Private was enjoying a relaxing day in the sun. marlene was sunbathing as well. Zandra had decided to give her mom and dad a rest, and was playing with her toy dogs. Julian had decided to not play loud music on such a peaceful, sun-filled day. Pico was playing with mort with their toy beach ball. Maurice was lying on a lawn chair himself. Kowalski; however, was down in his lab like usual.
He was tinkering with a little invention he liked to call the matter-o-fixer. It was a blue machine with blinking lights, and a converter belt that beeped every time you pressed it. Kowalski wiped the sweat that beaded down his face. He was exhausted, and he knew that. He had been working for 2 whole nights now. Skipper would blow a fuse if he knew that he had been up that long. Kowalski finally almost attached the final piece. The final piece happened to be his hard drive.
Then Karen burst into the lab, scaring Kowalski right out of his mind. He dropped the hard drive, and it landed in a white box. The white box had the label "useless hard drives" printed in big, black letters. Karen had left as soon as she entered, without hearing Kowalski yell at her for scaring him.
Kowalski turned back to the table, and reached his flipper down into the box labeled useless hard drives. He pulled out a sliver one. The sliver one had a burnt side to it. Kowalski put the hard drive into the machine, and then left the lab. When he left the machine's glowing lights started turning red, black, and then green. The machine made a loud beeping sound announcing it was ready.
It then sent out a shockwave that covered the last three miles. Everyone had felt the wave, but thought nothing of it.
K: yeah so I thought I'd toss this out here. Tell me what you think.
Next chapter: failing lights
Summary: why are lights always fading? Only one answer, only in song!
