Scorpius threw his Slytherin prefect badge across the room. Why him? Why did he have to be prefect when Rose wanted it SO bad? What was wrong with Flitwick? Both Rose's parents had been prefects. Ron Awesome and Hermione Perfect Prefect, Everyone knew. So why not Rose? Astoria hadn't even gone to Hogwarts and nobody had liked his Dad except for the two buffoons Crabbe and Goyle. He flipped his blond hair to the side and put on his usual solemn expression and walked downstairs. "Hey mum" he grumbled as he saw Astoria baking cookies. Scorpius smiled. He hadn't had his mom's chocolate chip cookies since Rowena's acceptation to Hogwarts four years ago. Then he realized, all of it coming back to him, these were for his new prefect badge. Wait…he had JUST gotten the badge from the owl. How could his mother know about it yet? "What the cookies for?" he asked, not wanting to rise suspicion. "You are a prefect now, are you not?" she replied, her face worried that her prediction had been wrong. Scorpius nodded slowly. "How'd ya know, mum?" he questioned her. She smiled her sly, motherly smile. "Predictions, hon, now why don't you go tell Rowena and Dad that we have a celebration to have." Scorpius ran to his younger sister's room and knocked on the door. She opened it and groaned "What do you want now?" Scorpius wrinkled his nose. He hated Rowena's room. Too pink and girly. "I'm a prefect now and we're having a party. Invite your friends and stuff, the usual" he said to his sister. She grinned at the thought of another party, but then she remembered the reason why they were having it. Her brother was a prefect. Great, jus great he could boss her around more. He stalked off to their father's (Draco Malfoy's) study. "Hello, son" he said when he Scorpius walked in "What?" Draco asked. "I'm a prefect and Mum says we're going to have a party. Can we?" Scorpius replied hopefully. "Sure, congratulations Scorp!" Draco exclaimed.
Scorpius couldn't wait to write his invitations. He ran to his room and started his first invite.
