This is an alternate ending to the Golden Compass. It's short, but this is something that was just irritating me, so here we are. Review.
Lyra knew you were never to touch another's daemon.
However, Lyra knew what was about to happen to Roger, and under the circumstances, she wasn't about to just wait for. With such strength, that it even left her to tumble into the snow, her boot came into contact with Stelmaria's head. Salcilia sprang into her companion's arms before Stelmaria could even gain her footing. Asriel looked over, obviously feeling the impact as well, and glared at Lyra. She made her way to stand.
Asriel shouted, "What are you doing?"
But Lyra did not reply. She simply began to run, grabbing Roger's hand and racing back down the mountain. She knew they were chasing after her, but she was determined. Just they she swore they'd never take Pan form her; they wouldn't take Roger, her dear friend, either.
They made their way swiftly. Lyra paused unsure what to do when she arrived upon her mother. But realizing Asriel was in fact, just behind her, she sped off running again, bumping Mrs. Coutler on her way, her daemon, the golden monkey falling into the snow unhappily.
She would learn about Dust. And she would get to that other world. And she would have Roger by her side doing it.
