Summary: Shizuo despised playing boardgames. A lot.
"Ah~, Shizu-chan. Sorry, but you have to go back to start!"
Shizuo could hear his own vein pop for the fifty-fifth time in one hour.
"I know how to play the damned game. Just put the freaking pawn down, and shut up," the blonde replied, putting both hands on his crossed knees from where he sat.
Izaya's hand moved to place Shizuo's red game piece at Start. While reaching over, it was obvious that Izaya purposely brushed his arm against Shizuo.
"Not my pawn! Move yours, yours!" He pushed the informant's hand away roughly. Izaya moved quietly with a smirk back to his original spot on the floor of Shinra's home where a group of him, Celty, Shinra, and Shizuo surrounded the gameboard.
As Shizuo shifted to pick up a card that had a visible "SORRY" written on the back, Shinra whined.
"Shizuo! It's Celty's turn, not yours. Don't try to cheat," He asserted in amusement.
Celty tapped her fingers firmly on the PDA she held in her hand and faced it to Shinra and out of Shizuo's view.
"But I am being nice, Celty! I just want you to win." He pouted after a quick glance to the device.
Celty moved her pawn swiftly across the board, not bothering to respond.
Minutes later, Shizuo watched as his own pawn was the last one on the board that wasn't in the circle titled "Home".
Another vein popped, and Shizuo gritted his teeth hard enough so the sound was audible as he closed his eyes in irritation.
Izaya looked over and pointed. "Ne~, Shizu-chan. You have way too many veins."
"Really?" Shinra leaned over to look at the blonde's forehead.
Celty tapped. "You didn't have to go berserk and flip the gameboard over."
Shizuo stayed in his seated position, arms crossed and refusing to pick up the pieces he had made a mess of.
Shinra picked up the piece of cheap wood, the separate sections dangling loosely where it split. "I think you broke the board."
"Next, we play Candyland!" Izaya threw his arms up in the air carelessly with a grin showing through his eyes.
Shizuo got up to leave without saying a word.
Izaya reached over and let his fingers clasp loosely around the thread of Shizuo's white shirt."No, wait. Don't be a sore loser."
"Candyland is stupid." He didn't turn around, but he also didn't continue making his leave.
"Just because you've lost Candyland before-"
"I've never played it!"
"-doesn't mean you have to be grumpy." Izaya reaching to pinch his cheeks, Shizuo moved closer to the door, dodging his disgusting, flea-ridden hand.
Celty's PDA chimed in, "How about The Game of Life instead?"
"Get married," Shizuo read aloud the tile on the board with a blank stare.
Izaya clapped happily while Celty reached into the box filled with pink and blue human shaped figures.
She pulled out blue, moving it towards Shizuo. He glanced at the headless rider and back at her hand. His eyes maintained its shifting.
"What's that?" He questioned suspiciously.
Celty's hand holding the piece jerked closer, encouraging him to take it. Though she had no head, he could tell she was nodding.
Shinra grinned. "Why, it's your hubby, Izaya!"
