Mothers' Day
Four girls were grouped in a circle in an otherwise deserted classroom, all different shades of hair and six different colors of bright, shining eyes. After school had ended, they sat around to chat and had wound up discussing the coming holiday.
"So Vivio, what are you planning to do for Mother's day? I bet it's pretty important at your house." Rio was the only one sitting on top of one of the desks, kicking her feet back and forth.
Corona looked thoughtful suddenly, tapping a finger against her cheek. "Hey, wouldn't Vivio's be different? For her, it would be Mothers' Day, right?"
"Is that not what she said?" Einhart said, head tilted to one side.
"Well yes, but the possessive is different. Like this..." She took out a pen and jotted it down for them.
"Oh, I get it." Vivio said, regarding the paper before her. "Mothers' Day, eh? That's so cute! I'll hafta put that on a card or something."
"So what will you do to celebrate? They will both be home, will they not?" Einhart asked as she looked from the paper up at her friend.
"I haven't really thought about it yet." Vivio began her hypnotic thinking process of alternatively closing one eye then the other, giving the illusion of having her eye color change between ruby and emerald. "We could all go out somewhere together; maybe to dinner or to the park. Then again, I could always just leave them alone all evening..."
Knowing glances were exchanged between her friends.
"Did you not do that for Nanoha-san's birthday though? I'm sure they would like to spend time with you too." Einhart said.
"You're probably right, Ein-chan. Guess I'll come up with something."
"Well, how long are you planning to wait?" Corona looked at the orange-haired girl seriously. "It's tomorrow, after all."
Vivio stood abruptly, slamming her hands on her desk. "T-TOMORROW?!"
Rio put one hand over her face. "Just like her mothers..."
The three girls nodded solemnly.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed that! I had the idea last year, didn't know where to go with it, and rediscovered it this week. I'm not too far past the day so I thought I'd make a 5SF and apologise for missing last month's post. I was in crunch time at the end of the semester and this month I've been getting back to my work schedule where things are chaos as usual.
