Begin Again

Trentney oneshot based on the song 'Begin Again' by Taylor Swift. I wrote this a while ago, so sorry if it's bad.

Courtney's POV
I watched the rain trickling down the window, tiny water droplets racing down the glass.

Wrapping a blanket around me, I sat down at my desk and logged into my computer. I still had a background of Duncan and I, smiling and happy. I wish I was still the girl in that picture.

A message popped up on the computer, 'NEW EMAIL!', the flashing words read.

I checked the email and found out it was from a gwuncan fan, one who hated me:

To Miss CIT (Controlling, Insane, Troll)
Can't you just get over Duncan and stop being a psychopath?
Can't you see he's just not that into you anymore?
Stop blaming Gwen, even if she didn't know Duncan he still would've found someone better than you!
If you want to blame someone, blame yourself!
Maybe if you learn to accept people for who they are, you'd be likeable.

I read the email again and broke down in tears. They were right. Duncan hated me, and it was all my fault.

I was horrible to him, I tried to change him. Gwen is better for him anyway.

I looked back to the window. Outside my house was so cold, just like my heart. No one could ever love me again.

I changed the background on my computer, wiped away my tears and went to the bathroom to wash my face. Splashing cold water on my cheeks, I felt a little better. Crying wouldn't help anything. As I dried my face, the doorbell rang.

Who could that be? I wasn't expecting anybody, and the few friends I have are on holiday.

The door opened to reveal a familiar face I hadn't seen in a long time.

'Trent! What are you doing here?', I said nicely.

'Hey Courtney! I was just passing by and thought I'd drop in, you don't mind, do you?', He asked with a handsome smile.

'Of course not! Come in!', I led him inside and we sat down at my dining table. 'So how have you been since Total Drama finished?', I asked.

'Good, I got a record deal, actually. I've written I few new great songs that've been pretty popular. How have you been?', He asked me.

'Oh, well, I've been good too', I lied. I noticed he had his guitar with him, although the case was a little wet from the rain. 'Can you play me some of your songs?', I asked with a sweet smile. I've always loved Trent's voice.

'Sure', he replied and took his guitar out from the case. He strummed the strings of the guitar and began to sing a song he wrote.

I listened wide-eyed and in awe. He was so perfect, now I know why Katie and Sadie were obsessed with him. I needed a guy like Trent. Not a bad guy like Duncan, a nice guy.

Maybe it is time to get over Duncan, maybe I am ready to love again.
