STRANGE FRIENDS…
He was sitting near the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was the place he always went when he felt down. He was bullied again by people he didn't know, probably people from before his days as an adventurer, going around the world with the most famous guy he knew. This is Miles Tails Prower.
He was running, running, just running from everyone. He was crying heavily, he had barely any friends, he almost destroyed his world. His mom was killed by a fat bastard, his brother controlled, and ultimately killed as well. His peers looked at him like he was a freak, a monster, someone who shouldn't be. This is Lucas of Tazmily.
Tails' heard the bushes behind him rustling. He prepared himself for trouble. "I swear, you jerks don't give up, do ya'? Well, just go away…NOW." The bushes still rustled, the one hidden by the growth not hearing his threat. "So, you're brave, huh? It's your grave you're diggin', not mine." He powered a strange blaster pistol, an experiment he hadn't shown Sonic. He knew he wouldn't approve. Just then, a small boy, tears flooding his eyes, jumped from the bush. He tripped and fell, still crying. Tails was surprised. He didn't know this kid, but he knew this kid was upset…BAD. "…hey kid. What's eatin' ya'?" Tails tried to be friendly, not knowing what this kid could do.
"…sniffle…sob…my…mom…she's dead…it's all my fault…sob…"
"Rough life, huh? Don't worry, just sit next to me. The sea will help ya' forget." Tails always thought his life was bad. And now this stranger popped up, crying like there's no tomorrow, over something out of his control. 'Man, this kid needs a friend. Weird, though…reminds me of me a while back. I used to cry at everything, and then Sonic would cheer me up…' Tails was getting a bit emotional thinking this.
"…sniff…thanks…I don't even know your name…but thank you…" the kid was starting to settle down, his tears drying. "My name's Lucas…What's yours?"
Tails looked at Lucas with comforting eyes, wanting to hug his worries away. It always worked with him. "…the name's Miles. Here, have somethin' to eat. Ya' need to refuel after all that running." With that, he gave Lucas half of his sandwich. The two ate together, happy to be in each other's company. Strange friendship, I know. But, hey, these two people fit together pretty well.
