"Ne, Sakuno-chan let's joined the tennis club again." Tomoka Osakada was walking with her friend Sakuno Ryuzaki. They both had graduated middle school and is now attending Seishun High.

"I don't know if I still wants to join." Sakuno replied sadly. Last year she confessed to the person she truly loves, but was rejected in the end. Sakuno Ryuzaki had finally wants to let go of this love. She was hoping of not meeting him this year, in this school.

"Demo you haven't even forgotten tennis let alone forget him." Tomoka said not wanting to mention the name. True Sakuno had fallen in love with Ryoma Echizen, but his love isn't with her. His love is with tennis and with another girl. Unknown to her Tomoka had guided her towards the tennis club. Sakuno put down her bag as Tomoka handed her a racket. She hesitantly took it.

"Ah, it went out." A player inside the tennis court said. The ball was aiming right towards Sakuno. Sakuno immediately hit it back towards the basket of tennis balls.

"Opps, my body just move on it's own." Sakuno wanted to slap herself for making such a move. Suddenly many students came up to Sakuno and asked her to joined the tennis club. She ran away from them as they ran after her. Tomoka watch bewildered by their actions.

Sakuno had finally manages to lose them along the way. She let out the breath that she didn't know she was holding. Sakuno was about to take a step, but she tripped on her own feet.

"Daijoubu?" A familiar voice give his hand in order to help her stand up.

"D-daijoubu." Sakuno took the hand and looked her. To her surprised it was the same person that she tried to avoid. The person that broke her heart, Ryoma Echizen.

"Ryuzaki?" Ryoma smirked. "It seems you finally cut your long hair."

"W-what does that have to do with anything?" Sakuno pouted as she stood up. "I-I have to go." Sakuno quickly ran away. 'Why? Why do I have to meet you again? Just when I finally let you go you just zoom right back in.' It hurts. The feeling of loving him is coming back. All those memories of spending time with him learning tennis is coming back. She hated it. She wants to forget all those memories. All of those memories will make her yearn for him even more than she already is. Sakuno ran towards the classroom she was assigned. Luckily, she is still in the same class as Tomoka. "Tomoka-chan, I decided to joined the tennis club." Sakuno showed her club registration form.

"Thank goodness, I thought I would have to join by myself." Tomoka beamed and hugged her friend.

At lunch, Sakuno ran to find Ryoma only to see him talking to one of his close friend, Momoshiro Takeshi. She immediately hid herself behind the wall that separate them. She didn't want to eavesdrop and was planning to leave until she heard Momoshiro said, "Why aren't you joining the tennis club? You know the team needs you. Without you how could we go to the nationals again! Didn't you hear Tezuka bouchou said that you're Seigaku's pillar of strength!"

Sakuno was surprised and was going to run, but she step on a branch making Momoshiro and Ryoma alert. She came out of hiding as Momoshiro bid Ryoma good bye and went towards the classrooms.

"Why?" Sakuno asked. "Why aren't you joining the tennis club?"

"I can't play." Ryoma replied as he walked away.

Sakuno dropped to the ground and cried. 'Liar! It's not that you can't play. Your heart already stop beating when your girlfriend died last spring!'
