"Now open," Wendy said to me. But I refused to, she was leaving Neverland soon. She would rather grow up than stay with me. "Peter?" She asked, "yes?" I replied. "Please…open your eyes." I squeezed my eyes tighter together. She took a deep breath, "Wendy?" "Yes Peter?" "Will y-you give me a kiss?" "Why of course Peter." We were in a meadow about 10 miles dew east of the mermaids home and 20 miles dew west from the lost boys. She sat up, slowly I opened one eye to look at her beautiful face. She leaned in, she was only half a foot from my face. Then she closed her eyes, and pressed her lips to mine. My eyes opened wide, then I closed them and kissed Wendy back. Now I understand why people do grow up. I had a warm feeling inside of me that had been growing since I first met Wendy. Maybe this was what love felt like. Wendy had tried to explain it to me but I had blown her off. Wendy pulled away and tucked her knees to her chest. I bit my lip, "Wendy please stay here, we could be young together forever!" "I-I'm sorry Peter I must grow up. Someday I will get married and have children then my children will have children, just like my mother." I put a hand on her shoulder, she looked at me. Then I kissed her again. She moved closer to me and kissed back. "Come with me Peter. W-we could get married and have children and our children could have children." I shook my head, "I can't grow up." "Why?" "B-because…" I thought for a minute, "Wendy I am scared to grow up." "You fight pirates but your scared of growing up?" "Yes I'm afraid it's true." She held my face, "don't be scared dear Peter."
