You sit at your desk playing with your fingers and staring at the table. Learning was never a thing you were good at and you know that. The whole school knows. The reason you know that is because, that's what they told you. Yelling at you, calling you names, most include rudely telling you just how idiotic you really are. At first you did what mom told you, and you denied what they said. But, then they kept saying those mean, cruel words. Day after day until you started to believe it yourself. Stuck in their web of hate, just like a fly. Trapped. Never to break free from… yourself.
Though out all of sixth grade you never made one friend. Either they hated you, didn't care, or just didn't want to get picked on themselves. You don't blame them. You would hate it too if you made a friend just to find out that you would be dragged down in their ship of hate and self loathing along with them. But, sometime you wish you weren't alone and that everyone was nice, and that you wouldn't feel so terrible everyday just because of the words people would say.
All of this is their fault. Those of whom that pick on you day in and day out. It's all their fault! It's their fault that you have no friends, their fault that you are alone! It's their fault that you have no one to eat lunch with, and their fault that no one would stand up for the stupid cat girl! But, you might as well not dwell on thoughts that you know will never change.
For the first time since you entered the classroom that day you look up. The teacher is talking about the new student coming to school you listened long enough to hear her say "His name is Karkat Vantas and he just moved here from Seattle, Washington so make him feel welcome."
She then walked out the door and within two minutes came back with a boy in tow. He had hair like snow and eyes like red roses. He had a scowl on his face and looked like he would kill all of us if he could.
His sweater had a crab on it as well as the cancer symbol. His pants were a duel gray and his shoes were charcoal black. As you studied his appearance you just then realize that this Karkat Vantas had to sit somewhere. You looked around the room to see that the only empty seat was next to you. Of course the only seat left was next to you. You (like in every other class) sat in the back corner of the room farthest away from the door next to no one. Not anyone in this whole school wanted to sit next to you and you know it. They all want to stay as far away from the cat girl as possible.
You would think that having someone actually sit next to you for once would be good. But, it next to you for once would be good. But, it wasn't! Actually you hated it! You knew that this new kid just like every other was bound to make fun of you sooner or later, and you just can't stand that! Because all you wanted most in this world is a friend, but this is something you cannot have and it's all THEIR FAULT.
