A young woman of 25 or so walked into the run down bar. She looked around. The walls were stained with beer among other things. The walls were also peeling away with age. It was dimly lit with lights hanging all round on the ceiling. The floor was marble so her shoes clicked as she walked. She sat at the run down bar where the bar tender immediately poured her a shot.

"Bad day." The bar tender was the only person she ever talked to.

The woman flipped her long blonde hair over her shoulder and let it fall to its full length. Her blue eyes linger on him. Almost as if judging him trustworthy or not. She pulled her trench coat tighter and began to speak.

"The worst. I sold 80 books at one signing and had to deal with almost 600 happy people."

The bar tender raised an eyebrow. He knew she had a reputation for being sort of unhappy but she must have been the richest lady in the state. "How come you always seem so miserable?"

"Why." The woman gave a harsh laugh.

"Have you ever loved someone so much it hurt?"

The bar tender shook his head. He knew exactly where this was going. She always talked about the same boy every night. This story however was new.

"Well I did. I you know what he never even looked my way."

She sighed and downed her drink and signaled for another one. The bar tender looked to his side as if having second thoughts. Finally he poured her another promoting her to finish her story.

"Anyways, he was nice to everyone. Even me. But he had his eye on this other girl. She was pretty sure but she was a fake. He never even saw that coming. Well one day she just dumped him like he was a sweater that didn't fit. I comforted and told him how I felt and you know what he said?"

The woman gripped her shot glass so hard it shattered. She apologized but the bar tender was so interested in hearing her story that he brushed away the pieces pouring her a new glass.

"He said, 'Have a nice life.' Didn't even consider my feelings. But you know the worst part...I did it to myself cause for 12 years I couldn't respect his...For fear that people would find out I had feelings."

She laughed downed her drink and slapped some money on the bar table and walked out. She hopped onto her bike and the 'mystery woman' as she had been named drove off. Everyone who was looking out the window saw her had waved. Unfortunately the only thing that had seen them was a pink ribbon that was tied to the exhaust pipe.
