Hello everyone! Thank you for coming here. I have enjoyed a lot of writing for the last Story I made and I have been growing more and more curious about what to write next as I keep the one story Updated. I hope that this story can please my readers as the other could, and for those who read both my stories, I am so incredibly sorry for my slow updates. I hoped to release chapters faster, but it isn't working that well, writer's block is a bitch.
Well, let us get started.
This story takes place after the Manga-ending. Means for those who have not caught up, turn away now, Spoilers are very possible.
The Town of Magnolia seemed to enjoy one of the best summer-days it had in years. The Temperature was just perfect. High, but not that high. Sunshine wherever you looked at into the sky. It was a really joyful summer-day...If it had not been for...
"Fight me!" Roared a very excited and unusually loud Natsu Dragneel. The Guild was visited by Gildarts, who they met on their 100 year-quest Journey. He ended up accompanying them and returned with them to visit and stay for a while because the Grand Magic Games were around the corner. In 8 days, more precisely.
"For the last time Natsu, I kindly refuse" The calm magician answered before he raised his fist up, knocking a wildly pounding Natsu straight into the ceiling, and through it, leaving a hole for everyone to see.
"He never learns, does he?" Lucy asked worriedly, earning light chuckles from her table-mates, consisting of Erza, Gray, Wendy, and Mirajane, who for once was not tending the bar since she was taking a Day off to relax. Each Fairy Tail-Team was having their happy moments. Laxus was having lunch with the Thunder-trio, Gajeel was in the Library with Levy exploring more about the history of Dragons. (He would never openly admit he was curious, he had a horrible reputation to keep) And Elfman was holding a speech about adulthood and manliness to Romeo, who for some unknown reason was listening with a ridiculously fascinated expression. Fairy Tail was at peace. But, That was gonna be shortlived.
Gajeel suddenly stormed out of the Library, Natsu boomed through the ceiling back into FT's guildhouse, Wendy glanced up worriedly and Laxus set down his Sandwich with a very serious expression. All of the Dragon Slayers picked up a very loud noise that disturbed their current focus.
Alarmed by the sight, everyone else got up immediately, the mood quickly shifts to one of a battle-ready army about to storm a castle. "Everyone. Careful, something is coming. And it is very fas-".
A Loud and very powerful explosion followed by a tremor shook Fairy Tail's members out of their focus, some even fell to their knees or their face, as it was in Lissana's case. The Tremor quickly subdued and for a short moment, Panicked screams were echoing through the entirety of Magnolia's streets but then settled down. Shortly after that, the Guild's doors were burst open by some of the citizens.
"Come out, Please! Any mages know healing spells!? Please hurry!" Begged an older man with eyes full of worry and terror. Instantly on call, Wendy rushed past the others and exited the guildhouse, and soon after her, the rest of the Guild followed. They were let through by the citizens who stepped aside until FT arrived at the core of the explosion, which ended up being a crater.
Inside the Crater was a sight that would haunt their minds for the next days.
"H...he...help..." A very weak voice whispered, reaching both arms out to show that the person held something in their hands, or as quickly was identified, someone. "H..Help...Him..." Was the last words spoken before the young man collapsed into unconsciousness but managed to stay sat on his knees and dropped the person who he held in his hands, which shook the FT members and the citizens to panicked screams because the person dropped was FT's master, Makarov Dreyar.
Wendy instantly blew the dust from the impact away with a mighty weak Sky Dragon's Roar then rushed to Makarov's side, her eyes letting tears out like a waterfall. She quickly used her healing abilities to try and help Makarov, but once she got a look at her wounds, the shock ended up freezing her in Place.
Makarov had a spear in his belly that stabbed right through it, and the same spear was one of many who was impaled into the Young male's back, which was the reason why he was still sitting up despite being K.O. The spear that impaled them both kept him up, albeit at an angle, and stabbed itself into the floor.
Wendy moved her hands to her head in fear for the worst, fully experiencing the shock of the sight she had. The others were feeling a mixed sense of fear, anxiety, and Anger. Whoever did this would pay big time.
The Citizens were slowly pushed away from the opposite side of FT's mob and out of them emerged Porliyusika who knelt down and inspected the wounded Guildmaster and the male who dropped in with him.
"They are Both alive, but if we do not close the wounds and stabilize their blood flows they will die. Natsu, I need your fire to seer the big ones closed otherwise they will bleed out before treatment." She exclaimed and in one swift move pulled out the spear that went through both of the wounded, tossing it away.
Natsu quickly hurried forward and did as she had said, setting his hands on fire with his Dragonslaying magic and pressed it onto the wrist-thick hole in Makarov's belly, closing the wound a bit by burning the skin-tissue into a crust, massively slowing down the bleeding. As he proceeded to do the same with the male, Juvia knelt down next to Natsu and used her water magic to carefully pick up Makarov's blood and injected it back into His body.
"Good, This will give us some time until we arrive at the nearest Hospital. Juvia, keep returning their blood into their bodies." Porlyusika commanded and one after the other pulled out each spear within the Male's body, a total of 23 spears were removed, minus the one that impaled him AND Makarov.
"Gracious God, this kid is stubborn like a mole to refuse death with these injuries" Porlyusika calmly exclaimed while Natsu was finishing with the wound-closing and Juvia was reinserting his blood back into his body. Once done, Natsu got up and carefully picked the male up in Bridal style while Laxus did the same with Makarov, both of them following Porlyusika with a sprint towards Magnolia's hospital for further treatment.
"W...what happened to them..." Mirajane managed to whimper out, her voice utterly broken in sad worry. Gildarts gently pat her shoulders in hopes of giving her some comfort, but his own eyes were burning with the lethal fires of hell itself with how angry he was at the culprit, whoever that would be.
"We need two beds, NOW!" Porlyusika screamed as she, Natsu and Laxus arrived with the wounded duo and the Sisters and doctors immediately moved to prepare a room for the two. As quickly as the staff was able to, they ended up giving Makarov and the youngster a bed in the same room, having prepared blood transfusions and multiple healer-magicians to treat the wounds properly.
"We should leave for now," Porlyusika said after the whole panic calmed down and earned a silent nod from a rage-filled Laxus and Natsu. Both of them wondering just how it came to this, and who's ass they have to kick after this.
On their way back, however, they had reality slap them in the face again. Rune-knights were awaiting them at the entrance of Fairy Tail, led by Doranbolt/Mest. He was not looking any calmer than any of the others, but what made this encounter so anxiety-filled for the two young Mages was that next to Doranbolt stood Jura, Wolfheim, and Hyberion. Three of the four Gods of Ishgal who were also still actively replacement-members for the Council of Fiore. Each one of them had an expression of utter worry and for Doranbolt and Jura even panic.
"How are they!?" Jura loudly asked the lot, only to see a raised hand by a stoic Porlyusika who decided to make the answer.
"Critical, but alive. They are being treated by Magnolia's best healers available. Makarov will likely be out in a few days. The other youngster...Who is he?" She asked, avoiding the immediate answer to his state.
Hyberion stepped forward and closed his eyes before letting out a loud sigh. "The new God of Ishgal, the number one we elected based on his Power." Hyberion started and quickly lowered his gaze, rethinking how everything happened. "He was supposed to demonstrate his magic to the council as testimony for having earned his Position. But the whole demonstration was sabotaged by Assassins. They used Magic-nullifying runes all over the Council's meeting fort and possessed Magic-nullifying weapons. He sacrificed himself to save Makarov's Life because they were after Fairy Tail."
As suspected by most of the Guild, this was an intentional move from an unknown party. "Is he alive?" Hyberion threw in, worry clear in his voice.
"Yes. He is alive, though no one knows how. With the wounds, he suffered he should have died just from how much muscle tissue and organs suffered a total. Then the Blood loss to all of that."
Hyberion nodded in answer to her question again, but this time it was Wolfheim who stepped up to talk. "Hey hey...aren't you a tad too calm considering everything?"
"If I were to lose it like everyone else, could I have treated them to survive the trip to the hospital?" Porlyusika countered, her words shooting out like the bullet of a gun. "If I flipped out like everyone else, would it make any positive influence?" Her voice grew louder and her expression changed to an angry one. "You think I want to stay calm? I have to, someone needs to keep their nerves at place!"
"ENOUGH!" Jura cut in between, hoping to stop the arguing. Hyberion gave him a thankful glance and turned to the Fairy Tail members. "Could we go inside. I don't feel comfortable discussing this under the sun."
"Of course," Mirajane answered and everyone went inside the Guildhouse where they would resume their discussions, questions to be answered and names to be spilled.
"The Culprits are from an organization unknown to us, but from the interrogation, we could gather, They have ties to a legal Guild that will participate in the Grand Magic Games, but without solid evidence, we can't make a move on them." As Hyberion finished explaining, teeth were gritting amongst the FT members. They now had a rough direction on where to point their anger at, but now all they needed were names.
"We need to investigate further." Doranbolt added, having calmed down a little, now that he knew the two were both alive. "Fairy Tail, we need you as the front-cover during the Grand Magic games, you need to fight this Guild while we investigate in the background. Anything that becomes public before solid evidence is gathered will earn a scandal. The Council, after all, is strictly bound from sneaking around. Everything we do must be official."
Gajeel crossed his arms and made a loud Tch. "So you want us to be the failsafe in case your Illegal snooping gets out," Doranbolt responded with merely a weak nod, looking down afterward. The Situation was dire, he had no other option as it stood. He had to put his faith in Fairy Tail.
"Alright," Gildarts answered to agree with the Idea. "Everyone in here wants payback, big time. For both Makarov and the heroic young soul that saved his life. They did not deserve this fate" He further replied and raised his fist into the air. "IN 8 DAYS, FAIRY TAIL WILL DELIVER BUCKETS OF WHOOPASS!" With that said, he earned himself an approving warcry from all the members of the Guild.
Hyberion couldn't help but crack a small smile at the sight, Wolfheim just hmpf'd and Jura smirked to himself at the familiar witnessing of Fairy Tail getting ready for the fight of their lives, the fight to avenge which they could not protect.
"But wait a minute.." Levy kicked in which quickly dropped the war-soaked mood.
"isn't Era far away? How did you get here within hours? And as a matter of fact, how did they?"
Hyberion sighed out again then pointed towards Wolfheim. "As for how we got here, the little guy here can be quite useful sometimes."
Not expecting a Humorous remark from the stoic almost-dead-faced Hyberion, Wolfheim snapped, turning into his monster form and glaring down at the Wizard. "Hey hey hey, aren't you a little too provocative?"
While they were staring at one another, the guild shared lighthearted chuckles. But then quickly put their attention back to Hyberion.
"As for how they got here, that was the work of Makarov's Saviour. The New top wizard of Ishgal possesses quite the fearsome power."
Gildarts waved his hands up and then pointed his thumb towards the upper level above the guild-intern bar. "This might best be discussed between officials only. Until Makarov is back, I will take his place as a replacement Guildmaster. The God of Ishgal should be discussed in private." He said and walked upstairs, followed by the wizard saints and Mest/Doranbolt.
Once in their office, Gildarts offered everyone a seat and leaned himself against the nearest free wall, crossing his arms.
"Now, out with it. Who is he and how did they get here?"
The Wizard Saints looked between one another and Jura decided to be the one to speak up.
"His name is Mordregar. As for how he and Makarov got here, It is connected to his magical powers."
Gildarts nodded in response and listened with his full attention given to Jura. "Go on"
"It is mainly the power of his Eyes. His power is the Lost Magic: Arc of Reality"
Gildarts quickly widened his eyes. "Arc of Space? Explain. I know of someone who possessed the power of Arc of Time, What are Arc magics?"
Hyberion pat Jura's shoulder and hinted him to rest, which he did. "I will take over to explain this." He first said and sighed out once more. "Every Lost Magic is directly connected to a concept of the world as we know it. Magic tied to the elements of nature, to the elements of Human nature, to the powers of Dragons, Gods, Devils, and demons. And among those, there are 4 special powers who are direct inheritations of what created this Universe and all life in it. Arc of Time, Arc of Space, Arc of Life and Arc of Reality. Each Arc directly allows it's wielder to influence an Aspect of existence itself. The arc of time allows you to manipulate time. The arc of space allows you to manipulate the laws of the Space-Continuum. The arc of Life allows you to manipulate evolution and creation of Life itself. and Arc of Reality allows you to freely change the concept of the present, the concept of Reality, as we understand it."
"Manipulate the concept of Reality?" Gildarts asked on. He never heard of such a power despite all his travels and discoveries.
"indeed." Hyberion continued. "His will dictates the limits and definitions of what is Possible and what is Impossible. At the snap of a finger, he broke the 'Reality' Of Human limitations and survived what would be death in ANY other situation and empowered his muscles to the point where he made but one jump to quite literally fly all the way to Magnolia. Within Minutes he bypassed a distance that even with Public transportation takes a day at least."
Gildarts gulped to calm himself down. A power like that most definitely makes him deserving of the number one seat. But there were still more questions to be answered. But he had to save those for when the time is right.
"Alright. For the moment that would be all. We must prepare our travels to the Capital city so we may participate in the Grand Magic Games. Now, all we need to know is the name of the Guild we are to face."
Mest stepped forward and rubbed his temples. "Their Name is called 'Southern Knight'. They are a rather new guild, founded only months ago. Hence why we have not a lot of information."
"Are all the preparations done?" Asked Fiore's current king, Toma E. Fiore, who was sitting on his throne comfortably while playing cards with his daughter, Hisui. The Guard nodded in excited anticipation for the upcoming event.
"Great! Then let us await the oncoming days and enjoy the festivities together. The Grand Magic Games are about to begin!"
"There is one thing, sir." The soldier interrupted suddenly, his face turning more serious. "The Council has sent us unnerving reports. These Games will with a likelihood end up just as catastrophic as the previous ones."
"How so?" Hisui wondered and her father, the king, also had to nod in question to the thought.
"Well...at the last Council-gathering with the ten saints acting as the temporary replacement...an incident occurred." That definitely caught the attention of everyone listening. The King gripped his left fist with his right palm to stroke it, glaring down worriedly. "Makarov, as well as the Number one seat, was gravely injured and albeit without evidence...chances are it is involved with the upcoming games. Fairy Tail will without a doubt retaliate in full scale.."
The King and Hisui both were shivering slightly at the Idea. They witnessed Fairy Tail in it's true glorifying terror when maddened. The Guild was not to be trifled with, and for them to go through the games remotely as pissed off as the guard gave hint towards would be disastrous.
"We must Immediately put all fail-safes into motion" The king ordered and waved the guard to leave. "We will think of our ongoing steps. But for now, let us not worry. We will deal with the problem when it is here."
"Understood!" The guard saluted and left to carry out his orders.
Once the guard was gone, the King let out a heavy sigh, earning a concerned look from his daughter, the Princess.
"Everything alright, father?" She asked and moved her hand to his to express her concern. The King only nodded in response and leaned his head back. His thoughts were racing everywhere with the new information given by the guards.
"No, not really. Fairy Tail will once more join the games in an extremely foul mood and a clear enemy for sight. The damages alone will be catastrophic. Why can't Fiore ever enjoy these games in peace?"
"What do you mean, father?" Hisue asked confused.
"Ever since we established the Grand Magic Games, Every year has gone down as a violent one during the tournaments. Not once has every participant been there with good intention."
Hisue nodded weakly in response once the memories of the past games kicked in, one after the other. The King rubbed his temples with his fingers and let out another sigh, sounding like a sob.
"Do you think I made a mistake with these Games?"
"Of course Not, father! You tried to give the Guilds a unique means to come together once a year and celebrate, measure their strengths and form new Bonds of friendship and alliances! The Grand Magic Games have far more positive value and influence than you give them credit!"
The King looked over to Hisue and smiled weakly before jumping to her throne to give her a pat on the head.
"Thank you my dear. You always restore my faith in things. Now, Let's go out some. I heard a new restaurant opened and I really wanna try their Fish Fillets. They are rumored to be the best."
Hisue nodded excitedly and got up from her seat, accompanying her father as they left the castle.
Whaddaya say for the start? Good or bad? Leave a rating if it doesn't look trashcan-worthy.
