Was it a sad affair or a happy one?

To watch someone's beauty fade every year, to be a part of their suffering and to witness their end, how many times had it been? Once, twice? No… Maybe the number exceeded that?

Fujiwara no Mokou smiled at the old woman who was once full of vigour and life. The smile wouldn't reach her, she wouldn't see it or feel it, the woman had passed on, leaving Mouko behind. She wanted to be angry but she couldn't do that, how could she be angry at the person she loved?

Tears fell down her face and she couldn't bring herself to do anything other than want. She wanted to remember Keine as the young woman she'd been, the person who'd embraced her with warm arms, who she'd shared the happy times with, the saddest times.

As the white-haired girl smiled, she let the limp hand fall through her fingers. It landed with a thud on the bed and she gently kissed Keine's forehead before standing. She grinned, her breath coming in short gasps as the tears wouldn't stop, and turned to the lifeless person on the bed.

"Next time, I'll be more honest with my feelings, 'kay?"
