GrayLu Week: Day One
Whispers
Italics are whispers.
"Hey, Lucy," Gray greets her quietly and she turns around in surprise to see him hovering behind her.
There's a small pause before she finally says, "Hello. What are you doing here, Gray? Shouldn't you be asleep?"
"I couldn't fall asleep," he replies and takes a seat beside her. "When you got up, I followed you."
Lucy smiles, raising an eyebrow in amusement. "Were you worried?"
He snorts quietly, lips the slightest bit curved. "How did you find this place?"
Lucy looks around. The moon reflecting off the pond's surface, the twinkling stars above her, the serene atmosphere. She smiles softly, "I don't know." She lets out a puff of laughter. "I'm glad I did though."
Gray nods. "It's nice."
They're silent for a while, admiring their surroundings, listening to quiet sounds.
"Hey, Gray?" Lucy says suddenly.
Gray shifts to look at her. "Yeah, Lucy?"
The blonde begins to giggle. "Why are we whispering?"
He has to pause before responding, "I don't know."
And then her giggles turn into full-blown laughter, her cheeks pink and eyes sparkling happily and Gray — Gray is just staring at her like he's seen something beautiful.
