So I'm well aware that I've been MIA from fanfiction for over a year, leaving several fanfictions unfinished. I wish I could promise you that I will update soon, but honestly, I don't know if I can. I've just haven't been at a great place this past year, kinda avoiding most responsibilities, but I'm trying. Real life goes before my virtual life though, and while I love writing and those stories. I have to focus on myself first. For now, I figured drabbles would be a nice start, an easy commitment on Tumblr, but I might have gotten a few more prompts than I had anticipated.
To keep everything orderly I'm posting them all here. Currently, I'm trying to write a drabble a day. I've kept this up for most of the past 2 weeks, and I still have quite a few left so we'll see how this goes. Either way, thank you for all your support, and for new people, I hope you enjoy these drabbles.

KC + 9. Quit it or I'll bite."
Miniseries: part one of five.
It's Caroline's first day in High School and if anyone asked she would definitely deny it, but she's overwhelmed. A new building, new teachers, and new students… It's just a lot and while she prepared as best as she could, she fears that she'll be swallowed by it all.
She looks to her left where her friend Rebekah is talking to her older brother Klaus. At least she has a few connections in this new place. She turns back and takes a deep breath. She's Caroline Forbes. She can do this.
Her first classes pass in a rush and she's pretty sure that she wouldn't have remembered even one of her new teacher's name if she hadn't looked them up beforehand. Lunch feels like a much-needed break but is also a quick disappointment. All the new impressions were starting to drive her nuts, and she hadn't anticipated the challenge lunch would bring. Where to sit in the sea of filled tables? She glances at Rebekah but her best friend only shrugs.
"Let's just get some food and we'll find my brothers," Rebekah offers. While they rarely hang out with Rebekah's brothers, the Mikaelsons looks after their own and would welcome them.
Caroline isn't thrilled with the idea of sitting with a group of sophomores for her lunch, but at least they'll have a table. Besides, she has known Elijah and Klaus for ages. She can handle them.
Caroline sits quietly down next to Klaus and he's quick to steal a few french fries of her plate while he still has plenty on his own. She rolls her eyes but ignores it the first time he does it and continues her conversation with Rebekah.
"So after PE we should-" she notices Klaus reach forward to steal another couple of fries and she launches forward and pulls her tray out of his reach while she continues talking, "-take the southside entrance so we get past our lockers before Chem."
"How many times have you studied our school map exactly?" Klaus chuckles and leans in intrigued, snatching another one of her fries of her plate before she turns to him.
"I wanted to be prepared," she huffs at him, "and for the love of- get your own fries."
He shakes his head with a laugh, while he taps her on the nose. "Yours just taste better, Carebear," he taunts, using her childhood nickname.
She glares and catches his hand in hers. She leans forward but doesn't break eye contact with Klaus. "Remember Rebekah's 9th birthday?" she threatens.
"Still have the scar," he laughs while he shows his right hand to the boy next to him. He remembers his sister's spirited friend biting down hard when he stole some of her precious cake. It was the first time they met and she hadn't been intimidated by the one year older boy at all.
Elijah chuckles at the sight. "So what exactly are you saying to my brother, Caroline?"
She smiles sweetly at Klaus, showing all of her teeth. "Quit it. Or I'll bite." She grabs one of her fries and takes a bite, turning back to Rebekah and ignoring Klaus incredulous laughter while she plans for their next class.
Caroline and Rebekah make their own friends quickly, and together they find a new place to sit. It still doesn't stop Klaus from walking past their table daily and steal one of Caroline's protected fries. Her glare brings a smile on his face while he walks away chewing.
His friend, Marcel, chuckles when he witnesses the action once again. "You have a death wish," he tells his friend. "That girl? She'll bring you to your knees."
Klaus laughs and shakes his head. "We're just-" he turns around in surprise when he feels something cold slide in his shirt. An ice cube. He curses and looks down at a grinning Caroline.
"Whoops. Sorry," she smiles and walks past them, "I have no idea how that slipped out of my hands."
Marcel shakes his head. "Deathwish," he just murmurs while Klaus watches her leave with a grin. Game on.
The first five drabbles became part of a small drabble series.
The next part will be posted soon. (KC + "If I die, I'm going to haunt your ass.")
