Draco/Hermione

It was a free period and Hermione was sat in the Library, studying furiously for her N.E. . She pulled down her 5th book on Werewolves and began to read, no longer than she started she was distracted by Malfoy leaning over a giggling Pansy Parkinson. For some reason she felt a slight pull in her heart, almost like the sight upset her. Sighing, she turned back to her book and tried to read some more, but she couldn't, not when he was there. Hermione kept glancing over to him, she couldn't help it. Once or twice he caught her eye and looked away. She needed to go. She threw her book on the table and flounced out of the room.

He looked over expecting to see Hermione there, but she wasn't. "Where is she?" He thought, "I had her attention, but now she's gone.". He walked away from Pansy and picked up Hermiones things. "Great idea Draco, lets charm her things to say mudblood on them!" Pansy said as she snatched for Hermione's belongings.
"NO!" Malfoy shouted, the library went silent, Pansy looked shocked."I mean, 'no'." He said, and walked out, clinging Hermiones things to his chest. He walked to the Fat Lady's portrait and saw Hermione sat at the bottom of the stairs, crying. Draco's heart broke and he felt empty. He needed her. He didn't realise before but now he loved her like crazy. He walked over to her and crouched down, "Granger?" Hermione looked up startled, Malfoy was the last person she'd of thought of to be crouching I front of her, looking sympathetic. "You forgot your things." He said handing Hermione her stuff.
"Oh" she blushed sipping away a tear and reaching for her things "thank-you."
"Anytime Granger" he smiled and sat down beside her.
"Why were you crying?" He asked. "Don't look into her eyes"he thought "don't loose yourself in her hazel eyes."
"Don't look into his eyes" she thought "don't look into his piercing green eyes". "Oh it's stupid." She muttered. Draco looked up, at the same time so did she. Their eyes were instantly locked. He pushed a lock of hair that was falling in front of Hermione's face, "Nothing you worry about is stupid." He replied. Hermione blushed, "I saw you with Pansy." She said, finally looking away.
"Oh that?" Draco shrugged, "she means nothing to me."
"Why were you flirting with her?" Hermione carried on, looking at the floor. Draco saw a tear drop from her cheek and fall to the floor. He could bear to see her like this. He placed a finger under her chin and turned her face around to meet his.
"Hermione, you're a smart girl. I'm surprised you didn't figure this out." Draco said, not looking away from her, "I'm using her to get your attention."
Hermione smiled, "And why do you want my attention?"
"Because," Draco said "i love you.". He leaned in and planted a kiss on Hermione's lips. She smiled and felt shocks in her body. This was new, she'd never kissed someone that had referred to her as a 'filthy mudblood'.she looked past that and saw Draco as someone new. He liked her, Hermione Granger! He was Slytherin, she was Gryffindor. But she knew it could work. Draco pulled away and smiled, "Granger you have a talent in everything don't you?"
Hermione giggled " You're not so bad yourself."
