Mal stared across the view of Auradon, she came to appreciate the beauty of the kingdom that she soon would be ruling with her future husband. Auradon at night gleamed like percious jewels, unlike the rugged Island that faced it.
At times she would try push the ugly image of that place that bred her and others like her. That part of her pulled at her, tearing her very soul into pieces . The image of her mother smeared into her mind, taunting and shaming at her for being a disgrace to the bloodline.
A single tear would creep from her eyes and before it was too late she wouldn't even notice she was crying. All the insecruity she tried pushing down would come bumbling up, and she would breakdown on the floor, telling the monsters from her mind to go away .
A warm touch overflowed her, holding her as she cried and cried. Every cell in her body was awake and ready to jump . This touch brought her comfort as it sang to her, an old Island song that every lost kid has heard. She allowed herself to be joyed by this singing as she recongize the voice of her best friend.
Nothing had to be said in this moment as she tighten the hug between them, and feeling at peace as she stared at the stars before her.
