Part One

22 year old, Rory Gilmore was sitting on her couch, waiting for her best friend and roommate, Julia, to get home. She had been away for 2 months in Chicago, so Rory had been left in New York all alone. She was really excited now, that she didn't have to call her mom 32 times a day to get company. The door opened, Julia walked inside. Her long black hair was clinging to her upper body, because of all the rain. Her dark brown eyes were glowing with happiness and so was the rest of her gorgeous face.

"I see, you're glad to be home." Rory smiled. They hugged, for a long time. "I have something to tell you, Rory." She said, still glowing.

"And, I'm guessing it's positive."

"It's VERY positive."

"So, share, sister!" She smiled.

"I have met my soulmate!!!" She shrieked.

"Who?"

"Well, he is so amazing. He's just like me. We have both had problems with shallow relationships and he likes all the things you and I do!"

"That's grate, sweetie!"

"I know, you'll totally love him!"

"So, when will I meet Prince Charming?"

"Well, I actually have a proposal to make, before we get to that." She said, with a little of the glow, gone.

"You want to marry him?"

"No, I thought he might stay here."

"Okay, Jules, I love you, you are my best friend, but, WHAT!?!?!?!?"

"I thought he could stay in your side of the apartment, cause, there's the guest room."

"NO!"

"Why not?"

"Because, the guest room is MY ROOM!"

"I know, but there's 2 beds." She asked, pouting.

"Okay, but I'll hate it."

"No, you wont. You'll love him as much as I do."

"When?" Rory asked curiously.

"When?"

"When will I meet my future roommate?"

"Oh, wait a sec"

Julia came back thru the door, with a blond Adonis looking man, holding her hand. But that wasn't the reason, Rory just froze. The meeting had the same affect on the man. They just stood there gawking at each other.

Julia broke the silence, "Have I missed something?"

The to statues answered in unison, "No."

"Then why are you frozen?"

"I just didn't expect Tristan to be your soulmate." Rory said, still shocked.

"You know each other." It was more of a statement, than a question.

"No, we just went to high school together, for awhile." Tristan said,

"You did?"

"Yeah." They said, again in unison.

"So, then, why don't you 2 catch up, or reminisce, or something. While I'm at work?"

"Your working?" Unison again.

"Yeah, the lawyer business, never sleeps!"

"Okay." Tristan said, kissing her goodbye, deeply.

Rory felt embarrassed, Julia noticed.

"All right, bye, you guys."

"Bye, Jules."

Julia left the apartment.

They were just sitting there, on the couch, in silence.

"Want some coffee?" Rory asked.

"Yes, I'd love some, ma-" He interrupted himself.

"you can call me Mary, I just, kind of prefer Rory." She laughed.

"Yeah, well, I'd love some coffee."

"I'll make some, then."

"That'd be grate."
