Hey guys, it's me again with yet another one-shot. Now yes, I know I'm supposed to be giving you stories. Sorry about that. I have some more work to do on To Trust, To Lie and I haven't really had a lot of time, so bear with me here. Anyway, instead I'm sending you a short snippet that I wrote on the spur of a moment at ten o'clock last night. So be satisfied. You may not understand it to begin with, but hold in there. It explains itself near the end.

Disclaimer: Sorry Minions, not gonna happen.

A Gilded Curse

She was the genius Tom-girl.

He was the lost neighbor boy.

She was an oxymoron.

He was the one to beat the odds.

And she helped him do it.

And he kept her grounded

They held each other up just high enough to touch the sky while still standing firmly on the earth.

But happiness doesn't often last.

There came a war - which war has long been forgotten - but with war comes death.

And so they fell,

But they fell together.

Elysium was beautiful. This was a quick realization for them. But she insisted that it was not quite enough. (This would be their downfall.) So, when they were invited to take their turns on the esteemed tribunal, and when she said "yes", so did he.

They served as judges of the dead of years,

Together.

And then a case came up about a young man.

The circumstances are yet unclear to us, but we do know that this one point in time was the beginning of the end.

One said "yes", and the other said "no".

The man passed onto Elysium.

A man who would be reborn as a son of Hermes.

A man who's face would someday be marred on one side by a horrendous scar.

Seven years passed.

Seven years of uncertainty and insecurity.

Seven years that were empty of cases and juries.

Seven years of watching from afar, but remaining apart.

And after seven years, she chose rebirth. A decision to forget all that she had done and what had been done to her. A decision to salvage her pride and leave it all behind.

He followed her as soon as he realized she was gone.

And for once, the Fates showed mercy.

Or, what they perceived as mercy.

They were separated as far as possible from each other.

She was from Virginia.

He was born in the city of New York.

They birthed her to the goddess of wisdom.

He hailed from the line of the sea.

They had no chance,

No chance at a love that might shatter them through pride and uncertainty just as years before.

But they had more time to learn.

Pride was no longer her fatal weakness;

His had always been her.

And maybe the Fates were wrong.

This wasn't just a Gilded Curse.

Ok. There it is in all it's gloriousness. So, if you couldn't tell, it's about Percabeth. In their first life that I mention I used the idea that it was more like Romeo and Juliet: Intense infatuation. Their lives as Percy and Annabeth are different. These two are really in love and aren't going to break up anytime soon. (Percabeth forever!) Anyway, I hope you liked it and keep holding on until To Trust, To Lie. (You're gonna love evil Percy. He has an eyepatch.) ;D Until next time, guys!
