Hi, Deckerstars! Sorry I haven't the time lately to write anything. My father and grandmother are visiting so I barely have a moment to use my laptop as the latter is staying in my room. I will try to update my other stories soon. Hope y'all enjoy this short one-shot (which is also published on my writing blog) inspired by a story I read on AO3 and remember, reviews make me smile, flames can go to Hell!

He stood on the beach, watching the one thing that connected him to his past be engulfed in flames. "I made the right choice," Lucifer said to himself. My past does not define me anymore. The fallen angel thought as the fire disintegrated what his father had given him. As the embers died down, he put sand over the ashes and made his way home.

The next day, he told his wife what he had done. He expected his beloved Chloe to be furious at the fact that he would get rid of something that has been with him since the beginning. Instead, the detective sympathized with him, saying that as long as he can live with his decision, she supports him no matter what. He then enveloped her in his arms in a loving embrace, placing a kiss on the top of her head.

"Thank you, my darling." The Lord of Hell said gently. "It was a hard decision to make to be perfectly honest," He confessed. "There was a moment where I wanted to keep them instead of burning them." His wife sighed as she turned to look up at her husband. "As I said before if you think you made the right choice, then I will support you either way. Even if you chose to keep them, I would not stop loving you any less." Chloe said.

Fighting the urge to cry, he gave his beautiful wife a watery smile as he buried his face into the crook of her neck. "What did I ever do to deserve someone like you?" He wondered. Chloe then let out a chuckle, "I prefer to think that it's the other way around. I mean, you could have any woman you want, and yet you chose to be with me." At this, Lucifer pulled away slightly. "Don't ever think that you are not worthy, Love. No woman can hold a candle to you." He said, caressing his beloved's face. Rolling her eyes amusedly, she said with a sparkle in her eye,"That goes double for you, Mr. Morningstar." He laughed softly and replied, "Yes, my darling Mrs. Morningstar." before closing the gap between them.
