He woke up, back to the engulfing darkness. That dream seemed so real. Annie and he were out at the hospital behind the White House. They were getting their picture taken, like the first day he met her. There was one difference, though. He could see everything. He could see the large White House building, he saw the doctor who was taking the picture, but most importantly, he saw Annie.
Annie was easily the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. She had golden tresses and the prettiest brown eyes he's ever seen – well other that his of course. She was wearing a casual long sleeve black dress with a skinny brown leather belt around her waist, which was small. He noticed how small she was. He already knew that she was thin, but he also knew that she was very fit because of their sparring matches that happened all the time in the Agency's gym. She smelled like her usual grapefruit self. He just couldn't get over how beautiful she was. Annie was even more beautiful than he imagined – if that were even possible.
Their pose for the picture was Annie surrounded by his arms in a hug – not that he could complain. The bottom of his chin was resting on her beautiful blonde hair. She was leaning into his chest and he was leaning on her back.
The doctor said, "Okay, ready? One, two, three!" He and Annie smiled for the bright white flash emitted from the small cell phone.
"Here's your phone back, ma'am." The doctor said as he handed Annie back her phone. Annie, still in the middle of their embrace, reached out her hand and took the phone out of the doctor's hand and examined the photo.
"Look at this cute picture of us," Annie held the screen above her head for him to see. "I love the sunset in the background."
What he saw amazed him yet again (it seemed to be happening a lot in the last few minutes). He literally saw her beautiful smile in their pose. Annie was right: it was a cute picture of the two of them. And the sunset background was nothing short of breathtaking.
"This is beautiful Annie." He said as he looked down at her. She looked up at him and smiled up at him. She bent her head back into his chest while her bent his forward. He thought that everything was all happening in slow-motion. The moment he's been waiting for has finally come. Their faces grew closer… and closer… and closer… and…
He woke up to the darkness welcoming him like a hot cup of coffee after a long night. He tried to stretch only to recognize that there was another in his bed. He turned his head to the side and instantly smelled grapefruit. He then remembered Annie staying the night because her last mission partially went south.
Annie was sleeping peacefully into his side. He remembered hearing something about how if you dream about somebody, then they were thinking of you right before they fell asleep. He really hoped that was the case for some reason. He smiled in her direction, not that she would see it, and wrapped his arms around her. She may not be ready yet, but he could and he would wait for her.
Yes it was true: Auggie Anderson was whipped.
AN: So here I still am, and hopefully you're still here with me, 564 words later. Hope you enjoyed this little one shot that came to me in a dream. I wonder in Christopher Gorham was thinking of me before he fell asleep ;) jk probably not.
As Always,
Remember to Smile :)
