Thanks
Webby was finger painting in her room when she heard a knock on her door. She turned her head around and reached for her baseball bat by her desk as she called out, "Come in!"
Dewey opened up the door and Webby quickly moved her hand away from the baseball bat. She gave him a smile and walked up to him while wiping off her hands on her small towel. He smiled back at her and closed the door behind him so they could have some privacy together.
"Hey Webby. Just thought I'd swing by to say...thanks." Dewey said as he scratched behind his head awkwardly. "For yesterday I mean. When you helped me out with the Archives in Scrooge's insane money bin."
Webby felt a warm sensation growing in her chest as her smile grew wider. "Gee. I never had someone go out of their way to thank me. That's really sweet of you Dewey."
"Thanking you is the least I could do. You're the only one I can rely on right now to figure this out, especially since I can't tell my brothers until we find out more about our Mom." Dewey replied softly, afraid that Scrooge had some hidden microphones imbedded in Webby's room somewhere.
Webby grabbed Dewey by the hand and showed him her picture that she was working on. It was a finger painting of the two of them together holding hands while the title above them said Mystery Buddies. Dewey felt a blush forming on his cheeks and his smile grew wider as he looked back at Webby and offered up fist bump. "Mystery buddies."
"Mystery buddies." Webby replied, bumping his fist and offering him a piece of paper to join her. He took the piece of paper and together they painted as they talked about their next move in solving their great mystery.
