Addicted
By: Skittles
Quiet droplets of salt drip from her face
Her eyes drowning in miser as he smiled at another
'Never again' she thinks, watching as he mingles with the others
'Never again will he reduce me to tears'
Desperately clinging to the shards of her porcelain heart, she flees
Her soft steps echoing loudly as she runs
Runs away from her pain
Runs away from her sorrow
Runs away from her friend
Runs away from her addiction
Runs away from him
Gasping, she looks back one last time
Hoping and praying he acknowledges her absence
As expected, he is ignorant and does not
Her lips tug upward as she reveals a faint watery smile
'He'll never notice' she thinks bitterly
'He never does, and he never will'
She clamps her mouth shut with her delicate hands as she watches him from afar
Hot and heavy tears collect into a small puddle on the pavement
As she gazes in hopelessness, a resolution is made
'I love you' she mouths to him
'I love you so much, so much it makes me sick' she slides to the ground
'So much that I do everything you say' she raises her hands shakily and combs them through her hair
'So much that…I never told you' rearranging herself, she harshly wipes at her pathetic tears
'So much, that I cherish the time we have together' she gathers herself and gets back on her feet
'So much, that I smile idiotically at everything you do' taking a deep breath, she staggers forward, back to him
'So much…that I gave you up' she plasters her trademark smile and greet him
'I love you so much that I am willing to give you to her…my best friend'
Joining their conversation, she mulls over her lost love, but decides his happiness is first
'I can't help it; I'm simply addicted to you'
