Rhys looked at me with those glistening violet eyes, the eyes I had come to love so much.
"I need to tell you something." I slowly told him.
"Feyre, darling, you can tell me anything." He replied calmly.
I'd been thinking of ways to tell him this vital information all week, not knowing exactly how he would act. I have never been one for keeping things hidden from my mate.
My growling stomach brought me back to reality, ready to finally admit to Rhys. I let out a deep exhale.
"Feyre, you're scaring me. Please just let me out of my misery and tell me what you have to say. No matter what I am here for you in thick and thin. No one can hurt you, my darling Mate."
I wiped my fingers over my eyes, rubbing away the hints of how tired I was. My throat was so dry it was hurting to swallow. One last gulp and I was finally ready to tell him.
"Okay, don't overreact. I am pregnant." I told him in a low voice.
"WHAT! This is so exciting! Already?" He replied in so much excitement, he looked as if he could burst.
The symptoms had started in the past few months. The throwing up, I just said I had a stomach bug. The weight gain, I just said I wasn't exercising enough. There was always a reason in my mind to back up the obvious symptoms. I never expected this to happen so soon. Everyone said for Fae it could take years, even decades to conceive a child.
"Rhys, I didn't expect it either. You had told me how long it takes. Rhys, I don't know if I am ready. I thought we would have more time to prepare."
"Feyre, you are going to be the perfect mother. You are caring, loyal, and downright fierce." He said between kisses. He always knew just what to say in every situation.
Rhys grabbed my hand and pulled me, guided me, towards the bed. He laid me down gently and then laid next to me and pulled me towards him. This was just what I needed, the comfort of his warmth to help calm my nerves.
I fell asleep in Rhy's arms wondering what tomorrow would bring us.
