Just a little harmless drabble about Rachel's feelings on mother's day, with a little Faberry friendship on the side. All mistakes are mine.
Mother's day
Rachel was on her bed. Her face deep inside her pillow. Tears streaming down her cheeks. Silent sobs were shaking her body. Her laptop was next to her. The facebook- page was open with lots of mother's day messages of her glee club friends. Even Quinn had written something about her drunk mother, well now sober mother.
Her dads were downstairs probably waiting for her with their games night. But she didn't care. Right in this moment, she didn't give a fuck. There was just this fucking feeling of disappointment or sadness about her mother. Or because she didn't have a mother, who cared for her.
She hated mother's day. Every year the same feeling came up. Every fucking year.
The doorbell was ringing. Rachel didn't move. Maybe some neighbor or …she didn't care. Few seconds later there was a knock on her door. "What?", she asked into her pillow.
"It's me. Quinn.", the voice came through the door.
Rachel sat up and wiped away her tears with her hand. Her make-up was pretty messed up, but she didn't care at all. "Come in.", she called and sat on the bedside.
Quinn opened the door slightly and peaked in. She knew her feeling didn't betrayed her. Rachel was always posting on facebook, what she was doing, but this whole day nothing. And with mother's day and all, Quinn wanted to check on her.
"Hey, how are you?", Quinn asked carefully and sat beside her. Her hand touched lightly Rachel's arm and Rachel looked her right in the eye.
"Ok…", Rachel whispered.
"I don't think so. It's about mother's day, right?"
Rachel nodded.
Quinn hugged her with no other word and Rachel sobbed again. This time onto Quinn's shoulder. The hug got tighter. "I feel as if I have to puke, because my mother don't want anything to do with me. She don't want to know me, she don't care about me at all." The last words were barely audible and Rachel was shaking in Quinn's arms.
Quinn held her tight, till the sobs stopped and only sniffles came from her now wet neck.
"Thank you, Quinn", Rachel whispered. "I think you were the only one who noticed, not even my dads…"
"It's ok. We're friends right?", Quinn smiled at her and swiped away another tear with her thumb. "I'm always here for you, if you wanna talk. Even if it's about mother's day."
"I hate mother's day", Rachel said and smiled at her friend.
