The rain was beating her from everywhere. It felt like little needles piercing her skin form every direction. She didn't move, though. She just sat there and let her tears blend in with the rain. Blend in. Like her. She had always tried to blend in with the surrounding people. She was sick of it. She was right in the middle of her solo, when she had forgotten the words to the next line. She just froze. Then some jerk boys in the back of the auditorium started to laugh, pelting her with candy. She just stood there, and let the boys throw things at her like she was just a piece of trash. Everyone was laughing, except her friends. She had finally tried to do something different, to try to stand out from the rest of the raindrops. And look where it got her. Outside, soaking wet. She had run outside and just collapsed in the middle of the sidewalk. It was a couple minutes before Taylor and Sharpay rushed out after her.

"Gaby, are you alright?" Taylor yelled over the storm. Gabriella just looked up, still crying.

"I just wanted to be different from everyone else. Now look. I should've never tried out for this concert." She said looking down.

"Damn, girl. That's pathetic!" Sharpay yelled suddenly.

"Sharpay!" Taylor said looking shocked.

"Well, it is! She's acting like a baby!"

"Go away, Sharpay." Gaby said sadly.

"Gabriella, I've been in seventeen school productions! You think I've ever messed up? Yes, I have. Eight different times. There are people who hate me, but I don't care!"

"Whatever."

"No, not whatever! You're being stupid. A few boys throw stuff at you and Troy lets you down, and you let them treat you like junk? That's idiotic. You worked hard for this. You're acting like a pushover. You have a heart; don't let people stomp on it! You need to demand respect."

"Well, what the hell am I supposed to do now? I'm just Gonna go home."

"No! I practiced too hard with you for you to bail out now! So you just march back up to that stage and sing!"

Gabriella just looked up at Sharpay. She was the best friend she ever had, even if she showed it in a bossy way. She was a pure born teardrop, different and proud. The way she stood, she looked so confident. She didn't let people push her down. Gabriella knew she was made fun of. She heard people on the hall making fun of Sharpay, calling her 'showgirl' and jazz freak'. She just held her head high and continued whatever she was doing. Gabriella knew she was nothing like Sharpay. But she wasn't Sharpay. She was Gabriella, and she knew she deserved respect. Things started to hit her. All her life, she had let people crush her, and when they would, she would go cry or run away. She never once stood up for herself, or anyone else, for that matter. She stood up, and walked into the auditorium, ready to finish the song she had started. But walking in that auditorium, she was no longer the same Gabriella Montez. She was now a teardrop, ready to be herself, whatever the cost.

Like it?!?!?!? Just something I jotted down. R&R!!!!
