I own no part of Naruto, especially not the characters.
Okay, this is one of my first attempts at any type of writing about love or relationships or any of that kind of stuff, so yeah, just constructive criticism please. This was written for two reasons, boredom and impulse. I had nothing better to do and I felt like writing something short so here it is.
Neither of them were sure of how things would end, but they were posoitvie that they had begun on a decent note. Hyuuga Hinata...the name was that of a good friend. A white-eyed, quiet and at sometimes copletely withdrawn girl, she was still a good friend of his and was also very determined like he was. But she had a secret that he had not learned of until only five minutes ago. She had a crush on him and, for the longest time, he had no clue. His eyes had always been set on haruno Sakura and always seemed to over-look Hinata as anything more than a friend. She had confronted him moments earlier though with the fact. "Naruto, I...I have something I need to tell you."
His intitial response was the tilt of his head and then he replied; "What is it Hinata?" His eyes always comforted her but this time they were full of questions and she had no idea of what to say to make him understand. Her mind raced as she stumbled for words to describe her feelings for him. She struggled to hold back her tears as she fumbled around more in her mind. Why as this so difficult for her. She always felt she could tell Naruto anything and she knew he wouldn't make fun of her or anything like that for this. It should be so much easier she told herself silently.
"I like you..." She finally blurted out. Naruto tilted his head, wondering if there was more. When he recieved no further words from her he replied, "I already knew that Hinat, and I like you too, that's why we're friends." As usual the boy was oblivious to her feelings and most of the world around himself. He was trapped in his own little world, trying to form new strategies for battle, even though strategy was something he lacked greatly in. Hinat sighed, shaking her head, still fighting desperately to hold back her tears as she said, "You don't get it..." Naruto sighed, he realized what she meant and he wasn't sure what to say. It had nevered dawned on him that she would, no; could like him like that. She was just a friend but she wanted to be more.
Hinata noticed a slight glaaze of realization form over naruto's eyes and for once she saw him in deep thought. She was terrified. He was trying to figure out how to say no to her and let her down easily, but the truth was if he said no in any way she was going to burst into tears. He took a step toward her, closing the three-foot gap between them down to no more than half a foot. He started to speak softly, "Hinata...I," he interrupted himself as he leaned in and kissed her gently. This kiss meant a lot to her and she could no longer hold her tears back. Naruto wiped them away as they sat down to continue their conversation...
