The Unknown Princess

Chapter1

"No."

"Please!" I pleaded with the man I was doomed to marry. "Please, give me time to get used to this idea. Then I will do as you request, but I cannot leave my life and not take responsibility for those who are under my care."

Some hesitation. Maybe he would say yes. Could it be that I have won the first battle?

"No."

A deep sigh. "Okay, then what about my son? I will not leave him with his father since he has never cared for him, but I cannot leave him with my parents for I will miss them terribly and they will know that something is not right about this. Please, Sesshoumaru, you must be willing to meet with me halfway?"

Golden eye regarded me for a moment. His stoic expression wary as he looks into my eyes. I can feel that uncomfortable feeling, since he is rummaging in my head for the 100th time, but I know that he cannot leave without me and he will have to come to some sort of agreement with me.

"I will allow you freedom until your 23rd birthday (Which is in less than two weeks) and then you will come to me willingly since I have allowed you this time. There will be no more negations about this. But know this. If you try to run from me, I will not only track you down, but kill any who get in my way. Do we have an understanding?"

I nod as all my hopes die a cruel but quiet death. My heart wars with my brain. How can this be? When did my life turn for the worst and me having to sacrifice those I love for this…this….man. No, this Demon Lord? And due to this crazy event, I was now going to be the Lady of the Western Lands. But How? Why Me?! I don't even know this man and yet we are to be married. This is so not, how I imagine my life turning out.

All I know is that Kagome Higurashi does not go down with out a fight. So, let round one commence.
