Princess Bubblegum is flat on her bed, stroking the black hair of the vampire who's head is lying on her stomach. Marceline tells stories of her and Ice King, er, Simon, as she recounts many memories.
As Pb hears about the man that saved her life, about how he gave her that teddy bear, how Hambo was sometimes her only friend and happiness in her childhood, when she was surrounded by a world of despair, and how the man that was like a father to her lost his mind, this toy she only thing she has left of his old self, Pb starts to understand why this inanimate object is so important to her.
Marceline clutches the stuffed bear tight, comforted by Bonnibel and her touch. She even manages to tell Peebles about her weenus ex-boyfriend Ash, and how he sold Hambo to Maja, her prized possession, for some magic.
"Marcy" Pb says, "I'm sorry I don't understand your emotions a lot of the time. Your feelings are valid, I just see things from such a logical perspective."
"Nah, it's okay Bub-bubs," Marceline replies, "I act like a donkus a lot of the time. I just let my emotions get in the way of thinking clearly, y'know?"
"That reminds me, how DID you get Hambo back?"
"I traded him for my shirt."
"W-what?" she stutters, looking up at the Princess, "I thought that shirt meant a lot to you?!"
"It did, but your happiness means more than a silly old shirt."
Marceline smiles, and her eyes tear up.
But just then they're interrupted by Peppermint Butler, who opens the door.
"Your majesty," he says, "Raggedy Princess is here to see you. Apparently you were gossiping about her, and she heard through LSP. She'd like to talk to you."
"What the- I'll be right back, stay there!"
"Of course."
The vampire would never leave.
