ELI'S POV**

Her pale face was dull and looked so lifeless as she slept. I hate seeing her this way and I just wish this cancer would leave her body. Although the cancer hasn't spread yet, the doctors know she is still very sick. I lightly touched Clare's ice cold hand and leaned down to kiss her forehead. Even with cancer she was still so beautiful. Before I knew it Clare opened her big blue eyes and stared up at me as if she didn't remember who I was.
"It's me Clare I'm right here"

It took her a moment but once she realized it was me she smiled and squeezed my hand.

"Eli, what are you doing here?"

I laughed a little bringing her hand up to my lips and gently kissing her.

"I was on my way back from the store and I thought I would stop by. I rarely ever leave this place"

Before I could open my mouth again I heard footsteps coming through the door. Clare looked over at the door with a worried look on her face.

"Clare how are you doing today?"

" I'm slightly better, although I just woke up so I'm not fully charged yet"

Clare quietly laughed trying to bring light into the situation.

"Well I'm glad to hear it"

The nurse smiled
"I just need to refill your IV and we will be good for the morning"
Clare watched as the Nurse put a new bag onto the hook and screwed it onto the tube coming from her arm.
"Clare would you like some breakfast?"
I asked her in a calm voice knowing she would be hungry soon after the liquid oozes into her body.

"Sure, a blueberry muffin and some orange juice?"

"Uhm…"

The nurse interrupted before I left the room

"Cranberry juice would be better for your system today"

Clare looked at me and nodded her head telling me to do what the nurse said. I rolled my eyes slightly, smirking as I walked out of the room.

CLARES POV**

"Now Clare you have to be careful what you eat, there are certain things you can eat that can hurt you right now. Too much citrus and sour things can really set off your immune system"

I hate hearing things like this. What I can and cannot do because of my cancer.

"I just wanted some orange juice; I haven't had any for weeks"

The nurse wrapped the black bandage around my arm and began to check my blood pressure.

"I know Clare, this isn't easy but If you want the best chance of beating this you have to be careful"

I laid my head back on the pillow and sighed. Please hurry up and get out of my body cancer...Before I knew it Eli was back in my room putting a tray of cranberry juice, blueberry muffin bites, pancakes and sausage on my lap.
"Wow Eli what is all this" I laughed

"Well they were having a free breakfast special in the cafeteria so I thought I could get you more to eat" He smiled

The nurse put her hand on my shoulder and patted Eli's arm.

"This boy knows what's good for you, now eat up"

I watched the nurse walk out of the room and Eli sat down and waited for me to take a bite of everything on my plate.

"Eli you don't have to stay here" I said looking down at my plate overloaded with food.

Eli took my hand.

"Eat up Clare, because I have something planned for us"

I smiled and looked at his beautiful face.

"what is that?"
Eli smirked and stood up grabbing something out of his pocket and brushing off his jacket. In his hand was a small velvet box with gold writing on it. Before I could comprehend it, he knelt down beside my bed and took my hand again.
