Percy:

I couldn't do it. It was too soon. Where did all the time go? How did I miss it?

It seemed like I'd blinked and then boom she was all grown up. She'd completed her first quest. Was the best swordsman in the camp, and the smartest, she loved the beach, she loved all her grandparents. Then she'd met a boy while on the quest. And my fears had started when they had begun dating. It was Jason and Piper's son Justus. And I loved the kid. But he was stealing my girl from me slowly but surely. And now here I was. Expected to walk down an aisle and hand my daughter away to some air head.

I started weeping silently to myself, tears of joy at my little baby. Seems like yesterday she was meeting her first hell hound and now here we are.

Then the door opened and I was breathless. She was beautiful. Lovely and amazing, In a white dress that looked made just for her. She was crying as well when she looked at me.

"Oh dad you can't be crying. Mom is silly. I'll visit I promise I'll never forget you."

I smile "Oh baby I'm not sad I'm happy. It's just hard you grew up too fast… Well are you ready to go then?"

She nodded and I offered my arm. She clasped it and whispered. "Don't let me fall."
"Never in a million years will I ever let you fall my love. Never."

And we started down the aisle of the throne room. All our friends and their family there, smiling at her, but she only had eyes for one man. And he stood at the end of the hall with eyes just for her.

When we arrived I placed her hand in his remembering when he'd asked for permission.

Flashback

I was at the lab working with the animals and relaxing in the water. When I heard footsteps behind me, instantly I was out of the water sword drawn and ready to fight, there stood Justus with a scared look on his face.

"Please don't kill me. I know your better than your daughter and honestly that's terrifying." He squeaked out.

I smile and put riptide away. "Sorry to scare you I thought you were a monster for a second." I laugh and he soon joins.

Then suddenly he gets a serious look on his face stands up taller saying "Mr. Jackson sir, I'm here to ask permission to marry your daughter."

I look at him thoughtfully, thinking. "I will consent to this. But only under one condition young man."

"Anything sir."

I made a promise when Kalli was first born. And I want you to make one similar to it. But your own." I then repeated my promise word for word. For it had been branded In my mind all my life.

Looking down in awe of what I'd said he responded. "I will sir. But may I do it at the wedding in front of everyone."

I smile. "I think I can agree to that.

Present time

I nodded to him to remind him of his promise. He responded in like and soon my daughter was out of my hands facing the love of her life.

"Before we begin Grandfather" Justus said to Zeus who was performing the ceremony along with Poseidon.

"I have a promise to uphold and wish to do so now." They both nodded as Poseidon had a glimmer in his eyes for he knew what was coming.

"Kalli. I haven't been through what your parents did nor have I done the feats. I will never be as good as your father in fighting or your mother in battle. But I promise that no matter what I will give my life for you and any of our children. I will protect you with all my gifts and abilitities against whoever may come against us. And this I declare in front of everyone." He then looked at me with hope in his eyes.

Tears in my eyes I nodded and smiled knowing that my promise was relinquished and she was in good hands. The best of their generation in fact.
