It all started early in the morning in the middle of autumn. Hermione Weasley was awoken by the coughing of her daughter and went to go and check on her, and Hugo, while Ron slept peacefully. Half an hour later Hermione returned and went back to bed for about another two hours sleep. Unfortunately for Hermione, fate had other plans, for her day off work. Rose continued to cough and cough and sneeze, and so she decided to go and stay with her.

Later that morning Hermione made breakfast and Ron came down the stairs with Hugo in his arms; he gave Hermione a quick kiss and sat down at the table. They were in the middle of eating when Kingsley suddenly appeared out of the fireplace, and talked to her privately, and then he left. She was unusually quiet until Rose started to cough again.

"Ron" she said

"Yeah Hermione" he replied

"I have to go into work"

"But it's your day off" he whined

"I know that, but there is an unavoidable case that I have to deal with."

"But-" he tried to argue

"No Buts Ron, I will go to work and you will stay home with the kids" she interrupted and then kissed him to stop him arguing back.

So with that she ran and got herself ready for work. She came back down the stairs, with her hair in a ponytail and wearing a female business suit. Hermione's face wore an expression of concern for Rose.

"Ok remember to feed Rose and Hugo, to play with Hugo, to make sure that all three of you are alive when I return, and that Rose cannot read under any circumstances because she needs to rest." She said quickly then gave him a quick kiss and turned to Hugo "Be good for Daddy, help him, and don't annoy Rose."

"Mummy, I don't want you to go." Said Hugo

"I'll be back as soon as possible ok." Said Hermione hugging him "Bye Rosie" she waved and Rose waved back, and then Hermione left to go to work.

After Hermione left, Ron played chess against Hugo and won ("not fair Dad") while Rose was sitting on the couch watching TV, it wasn't until Kung Fu Kats appeared on the screen that Ron became suspicious. He snuck up behind her and saw her reading Hogwarts: A History, he then stood in front of her and ripped the book out of his daughter's hands, but she held on for dear life, but in the end he won, and planned to scold her for reading when not supposed to, but when he looked at her, he couldn't bring himself to tell her off. Instead he just said "Rest or I'll call my Mum, and she will make you rest Rose"

He fed them leftover lasagne from the previous night and chocolate frogs for lunch, on the promise that they wouldn't tell Hermione about the chocolate. After lunch they all sat down and watched a movie, until Rose went up to her bedroom to sleep. Silently Hugo followed her on his father's orders, and tackled her when she picked up the newly revised version of Hogwarts: a History. The battle went on for several minutes but eventually Hugo won. Ron then decided to watch them both at the same time, up until Hermione came home. He conjured up two sleeping bags in Rose's room for himself and Hugo.

When Hermione arrived home she found her husband and son asleep and Rose reading another copy of Hogwarts: A History, she summoned it into her hands and scolded her daughter. When Ron woke he gave Hermione a rundown of the day's events, and she was pleased with her families attempts of trying to stop Rose from reading.
