It was in the library where Jason found his friend, hidden in the very back deep within a shelf. Nico was hunched over a table, the candle burning low, illuminating the black and green of his new robes. Jason started to move closer when Nico's head snapped up, dark eyes locking on blue.

"What do you want?" He spat.

Jason was taken aback, "Nothing!"

"Then why are you here?" Nico stood up, glaring at the older boy as he walked over.

"Come on, Nico. It's not that bad,"

The dark-haired boy looked at his friend incredulously, "Easy for you to say! You're Hufflepuff's Golden Boy. Everyone loves you, don't they?"

Jason blinked, "That's not tru-"

"It is! Even stupid Percy Jackson-" Nico flushed but carried on, "-gets along with you, and he's supposed to be your biggest rival,"

"Nico," Jason started to say, but was cut off once again.

"No Jason. No one wants a Slytherin around," Nico turned his face away.

Jason's eyes hardened, "No one cares!"

"Wha-" Nico looked startled at the change in tone.

"No one cares if you're a Slytherin, Nico. It doesn't chnage the fact that you're our friend,"

Nico glared at the taller boy, "You saw the way they looked at me,"

"Look, they just aren't used to being friends with someone in Slytherin, that's all," Jason stared at his friend, who was uivering with slient fury, "And being in Slytherin isn't a bad thing,"

It was then Jason realised how lost and lonely the younger boy looked, behind his furious facade and his eyes softened, "Come on, everyone's waiting for us in the Great Hall,"

Nico still looked unsure, so Jason tried another tact, "They've got Pumpkin Pasties,"

Jason grinned as Nico's eyes brightened, though the boy tried not to show it.

"Fine," Nico and Jason started walking out of the Library, "But i'm only coming for the Pasties,"

Fin.

Just some Nico/Jason bonding.
