A/N: I don't own Teen Titans. Takes place after "Terra's Journey." Italic: Dream. Enjoy!
I'm Sorry
Beast Boy tossed and turned in his bed. He was dreaming about the night Terra betrayed the Titans.
"Beast Boy, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen," said Terra sobbing.
"Then why did you let it?" Beast Boy asked.
"I don't know, okay? I don't know. Slade… he helped me, saved me from myself. He said I owed him, but-"
"So it was all a game? You were just pretending?"
"No. You said you'd be my friend no matter what, remember?"
"Slade was right. You don't have any friends."
"Apprentice. Come. We've had a change of plans."
Beast Boy woke up with a start and looked around his dark room. He sat up in bed and ran his hand through his messy hair. The green Titan looked at his alarm clock. It showed that it was six-thirty in the morning.
"Might as well get up," he sighed. Usually he would have gone back to sleep, but he didn't want to take his chances. This was the third time he had dreamt this dream.
He got out of bed and headed for the kitchen. Might as well get some breakfast before the others woke up and made breakfast with meat and dairy based products. He got to the kitchen and made tofu waffles, tofu eggs, and poured a glass of soy milk. After breakfast, he was just finishing cleaning up when the others came in.
Robin let out a yawn. "Beast Boy, what are you doing up early?"
"I uh, had a bad dream," replied Beast Boy. Suddenly, he saw Terra.
It had been three days since Terra had rejoined the Titans. She had been getting used to being with the Titans and training with her powers. But she and everyone else were still adjusting. While Cyborg started to make breakfast, Beast Boy approached Terra.
"Hey, Terra, can I talk to you after breakfast?" he asked.
Terra smiled at him. "Sure." Once Terra had finished breakfast, she and Beast Boy went up on the roof to talk. Terra looked out at the beautiful scenery before her. She took it all in and turned to Beast Boy. "So what did you want to talk about?" she asked.
Beast Boy rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Well, you see, for three nights now I've been having the same dream."
"What kind of dream?" Terra asked.
"I… I dreamt of the night you betrayed us," Beast Boy replied nervously.
Terra stared at him. "You… you did?"
"Yeah, and I realized something. I realized… that I broke my promise. I promised you that I'd be your friend no matter what, and I broke it. Terra, I'm sorry. If it hadn't had been for me, you might have stayed with the Titans. None of that bad stuff would have have happened."
Terra found herself to be speechless. She didn't know what to say. All that pain of rejection flooded into her. She fell into a trance as she remembered that night. Suddenly, Beast Boy's voice snapped her out of her trance.
"I'm sorry, Terra. I'm really sorry. I just… couldn't imagine you betraying us like that. I couldn't handle it. But that's no excuse for me to break my promise. I'm sorry."
The geomancer looked up at him and wrapped her arms around him as she rested her head on his chest. "I forgive you, Beast Boy."
Beast Boy and Terra looked at each other and smiled. Then they shared a hug. "Let's go inside," Beast Boy suggested. Terra nodded in agreement.
That night when Beast Boy went to sleep, he had a great dream about Terra and his friends. Beast Boy smiled in his sleep. "I love you, Terra."
The End
Yeah, kind of mushy and fast and short, but I got this idea the night before I wrote it. Hope you liked it anyway. Special thanks to ComixFan1224, ELIE101, and Green Gallant for helping me with this story. Thanks you guys!
