Harry sat alone in his apartment. He had finished packing for his trip and
he should be going to Colin's place to meet Ginny soon, but he couldn't
bring himself to do it. Hi didn't want to have to face the fact that he
would not see her again for five or six months. Finally he stood and picked
up his bag and aparated to Colin's flat. It was quiet, Colin must have
already left and Ginny wasn't there yet. So, Harry sat down and waited.
There was a loud popping noise, and he lifted his head, expecting to see
Ginny standing in front of him, but it wasn't, it was Colin. Harry stood up,
and looked at the other man, there was an odd look on his face, then he was
gone with another loud pop. A huge crack followed and Harry was surrounded
by wizards with their wands drawn. One stood off behind the ring, he smiled,
and laughed a high cold laugh then disaparated. In a second he realized what
had happened. He threw himself at the ring just as fifteen different wizards
shout "Crucio" and he crumpled to the floor, writhing in pain. Harry had no
idea when this ended, but when it did the pain did not leave his body, and
spasms ran over him. He could see the shoes of his attackers coming towards
him, and was soon pummelled by five different pairs of shoes until he was
sure he would not live much longer, obviously the wizards thought the same
because one of them began shouting orders and soon they were all gone. He
heard another crack and a scream then he felt hands lifting his head. He
blinked slowly and focused on the person holding him.
"Ginny, I love you so much … I'm sorry I messed up .. the date."
Ginny laugh half heartedly through her tears, "Please Harry don't talk just
rest I'll get help"
Feebly Harry grasped her hand, "No, please, just stay for a while I just
want to see you, you know I love right?" The tears were pouring down her
cheeks now "Yes, I know Harry" he smiled, and winced as the cuts on his face
broke open again "Good." Then he closed his eyes. Ginny's eyes widened
"Harry? Harry? No, no, no not now not you, Harry" she clung to his lifeless
body weeping. The door opened and slammed shut Ginny looked up not knowing
what to expect. What she saw was farthest down the list. "Well, well the
little lover holds her beloveds body as he dies and now you'll join him." A
flash of green light and it was over she slumped over Harry arms still
around him. The man laughed and threw a rose on top of the two and left.
Some time later the door opened and slammed shut "Ginny, Ginny are you
here?" called Colin throwing his keys on the counter, then he wandered into
the bedroom. A cry tore his throat. "No, no, it can't be I told them not you
not you" and slumping to his knees picking up a wand that lay on the floor
he pointed it to his chest just as he prepared to say the fatal words there
were a number of cracks and the aruorers arrived. Cheating him of his
rightful destiny.
They never found out who it was that set up the two. Or who murdered Colin
three months later.
