Rolling, crashing, wetness...a total mix of confusion, pain, and disorientation. A bright light and resounding boom pounded his ears. Lightning, or an explosion? Was it...was...everything was blanking out. It was as if his memories had dissovled to liquid, slipping away in his grasp. Everything was gone, everything was wiped away. All that could be felt was the strength of these storm-aggrivated waves driving his small body into rocks, plunging it underwater, sending stinging salt-water up his nose and into his eyes.
It was agony. If he was going to drown, why wasn't he, already?

She lay under the thick, heavy smoke that blocked out the sky above. Heat was searing the ground, burning her body as she lay motionless, unable to feel her own arms. The ground shook as another volcano spit lava into the air. She flinched as hot cinders sprinkled onto her. Her lungs burned like fury. It was a wonder how she was even breathing at all...

One minute, he had been cruising through the sky at high speed, next moment his wings were broken, and his body falling, picking up more and more speed as it went down. Impact to the ground would be instant death, and as he fell he had the strangest feeling like his mind was being emptied. Memories slipped away, thoughts slowed...purpose faded...he was a void falling to his death.
